Welcome to the Under the sea Card Series! My first card is an underwater shaker inspired by 2 challenges: the Lawnfawnatics #34 My favourite place and the first card challenge at Pink and Paper (underwater shaker).
Here is what I came up with:
I started with stamping and colouring a bunch of images from different Lawn Fawn sets (Year 6, Gleeful gardens, Elphie Selphie, Mermaid for you and Critters in the sea). I used Copics for colouring and the coordinating dies to cut them out.
Then I created an alcohol inked background with a felt applicator and blending solution. I love these blue-aqua colours so much! I also made a yellowish piece which I die cut with a Stitched hillside border die to be the sand.
When assembling the scene, I adhered some of the images inside the shaker and I left some for outside to make sure thy are not covered when shaking. I also made the dolphin move by attaching it to the background with a very thin thread. It shakes inside but not too much, so it will not get lost in the bottom of the card.
The shaker part is a white stitched rectangle frame with a piece of acetate adhered to it. I stamped the sentiment with black Staz-on ink on the acetate itself. I put thin strips of foam tape around the frame and filled it with clear sequins, seed beads, silver hexagon sequins (Honey Bee Stamps) and chunky glitter confetti (Studio Katia). Before closing the shaker I also glued some of the hexagon sequins to the background to ensure that not all falls down to the bottom when the card is standing.
When the shaker was sealed, I adhered the rest of the images on the acetate, added some Tonic Aqua Shimmer to the seashell and the balloon and covered them with glossy accent. I made a little video for you to see the shaking (I am sorry that it is poor quality, I will work on that for the next time)
I hope you like my card and will come back tomorrow for more underwater inspiration.
