Newton’s Nook Designs March Release – Day 3

Hello Everyone,

We are halfway through the new release reveals at Newton’s Nook Designs and we are going floral today as we showcase the Spring Blooms Oval stamp set. It perfectly matches the previously released Oval Frames dies.

All new supplies will be available on 24/03/2023.

I wanted an elegant tone-on-tone background for my floral card so I started with stenciling. I used the new Quatrefoil stencil on grey cardstock with Picket Fence Studios Paper Glaze Polar. It is a magical silver, very elegant and beautiful when it is dry.

While it was drying I stamped the Spring Blooms stamp on alcohol friendly cardstock and coloured the florals with Copic markers. Here is a full list of the colours I used:

  • tulips: RV25, RV43, RV21, G28, YG17, YG25
  • crocus: BV13, BV01
  • daffodils: YR04, Y38, Y15, Y11, Y000
  • mini flower: YR09, YR04, Y38, Y000

Then I cut around the image with my scissors and ran a black Memento marker around the edges to hide any imperfections. Then I used the Oval Frames dies to cut a scalloped light purple oval as a mat for the pretty florals.

The sentiment I white heat embossed on a blue violet die cut which I created with a die from Framework. It fits perfectly in the middle of the image!

As a finishing touch I used a black glaze pen and glossy accents on some parts of the flowers t make them pop.

Newton’s Nook Designs March Release – Day 2

Hello Everyone,

Welcome back to the March Release reveals at Newton’s Nook Designs! On day 2 we are focusing on 2 new and adorable small sets: Rainy Day Doxy stamp/die set and for Newton fans the Newton’s Umbrella stamp/die set.

All new supplies will be available on 24/03/2023.

CARD 1

For my first card I started with stamping the images from the Newton’s Umbrella stamp set and coloured them with Copic markers. The colours I used are the following:

  • cat: E44, E43, E42, E40, E01
  • umbrella: B29, B26, B24, B23, B21, V09, V17, V15, RV17, RV55, RV52

I used the coordinating dies to cut them all out. While I was die cutting, I cut a few white clouds with the Sky Scene Builder die set and a piece of watercolour cardstock using the Frames and Flags die set to create a rainy background. For this I used the Raindrops stencil with some Distress Mica Spray: Shiny Bauble and Winter Frost. It literally took me 20 seconds to create this pretty rainy panel! I am addicted to sprays these days!

I chose a pretty patterned paper from the new Spring Blooms paper pad and cut it down with the scalloped rectangle die from Frames and Flags. I also die cut a black circle with Circle Frames and also a Speech Bubble so I could white heat emboss the sentiments on them.

I assembled the card using 3D foam squares under the kitty so he pops off with his cute umbrella. As a finishing touch I used a clear shimmer pen on the umbrella to match the sparkly raindrops.

CARD 2

As always I started with stamping and colouring the images from the Rainy Day Doxie stamp set using Copic markers. The colours used are:

  • dog: E49, E47, E57, E55, YG09, YG06, YG11
  • umbrella: Y38, Y17, Y15, Y13, Y11

After die cutting all images with the coordinating dies I also cut some elements to build a garden scene: Fence from woodgrain cardstock, grass with the Land Border dies, cloudy background with a die from Framework using pattered paper from Springtime paper pad. I also cut a green postage edge mat with my favourite die from Framework and assembled the scene.

I stamped the sentiment on a white stitched banner which I cut with the Frames and Flags die set.

I popped up the dog with 3D foam squares and used some Raining Rhinestones from Trinity Stamps as embellishment. I emphasized the eye and nose of the dog with a black glaze pen and used glossy accents on the handle of the umbrella and the raincoat buttons.

Newton’s Nook Designs March Release – Day 1

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to Day 1 of the March Release reveals at Newton’s Nook Designs! This is a super cute release focusing on Spring with some fresh and unique designs. Today our team showcases the Spring Haul stamp/die set, 2 new stencils and a pretty paper pad.

All new supplies will be available on 24/03/2023.

CARD 1

For my first card I started with stamping the images from the Spring Haul stamp set and coloured them with Copic markers. The colours I used are the following:

  • car: YG67, YG17, YG25, BG23, BG10, C3, C1, C0, T9, T7, T5, T1
  • watering can: C3, C1, C0
  • blanket: BG49, BG13, BG11
  • pots: E57, E55, E53
  • flowers: RV09, RV06, RV04, RV02, Y15, Y11, YR7, Y38, G28, YG67

I used the coordinating dies to cut them all out. While I was die cutting, I cut a white postage edge rectangle with the Framework die and a piece of grass with a Land Border die. I cut down a light blue cardstock to fit inside the white rectangle and did a little ink blending on the edges for a bit of shading. I used Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink with a blending brush.

I stamped a sentiment on the top right corner and assembled the scene.

I used 3D foam squares to pop up the car. I gave the scene a thin teal mat before I adhered it to the white background. For the card base I chose kraft this time. The tiny butterflies and bees make the perfect embellishment!

As a finishing touch I used a clear shimmer pen and glossy accents.

CARD 2

I love clean and simple stenciled cards and the new Spring Garden Line stencil will cover you for all occasions! I created 2 cards to show you 2 different designs but the variety is endless just by changing up the colours and sentiment.

I used Distress Oxide inks for the stenciling: Mowed Lawn, Kitch Flamingo and Mustard Seed. The sentiments are from the Mom and Dad and Dainty Daisies stamp sets.

As a touch of extra, I used a tin strip of gold glitter cardstock for both designs. It makes a huge difference!

Blooming Birthday – Newton’s Nook Designs

Hello Everyone,

Have you ever needed a birthday card but super quickly? Well, I was in this situation recently, when I needed a card for a friend of ours. She is fond of Spring flowers so I came up with a very easy design – perfect for mass production too! All products used are from Newton’s Nook Designs.

First I did some quick ink blending with Scattered Straw and Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide inks leaving a small area white on my card panel. I made sure to fade out the colours, I just simply lightened my hand while blending. Then I took the retiring Bold Blooms stencil from Newton’s Nook Designs and applied Abandoned Coral and Mustard Seed Distress Oxide inks. Before removing the stencil, I spritzed it with clear Shimmer Mist for a subtle sparkle.

I used the decorative edge die from Frameworks to cut the panel down and stamped a sentiment in the white area from the Loads of Blooms stamp set.

I adhered i to a white top folding A2 notecard and added a few Apricot pearls from Pretty Pink Posh as embellishment.

I wish you enjoyed today’s inspiration and will pop in again soon for more fun projects!

See you,

Zsofi

Heffy Doodle New Release reveals – Day 4

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to the last day of the new release reveals at Heffy Doodle! Our team made gorgeous samples for you to show the rest of the new goodies, so make sure to visit the Heffy Doodle Blog for more details.

I have a fun party card for you featuring the Flockstar stamp/die set, the Freshly Cut Grass dies, the Candy Swirl stencil and the Pride Sparkle Mix.

First I stamped and coloured the cute flamingos from the Flockstar stamp set using Spectrum Noir markers. The colours I used are: PP4, PP3, PP2, PP1, LG4, BG4, BG1, GY2. I used the coordinating dies to cut everything out.

Then I used the Candy Swirl stencil on a top folding white note card with Fossilized Amber and Mustard Seed Distress Oxide inks. I made the patter fade out towards the edges of the card by simply applying the lighter ink with a very light hand.

To embellish the scene I die cut a few leaves with the Freshly Cut Grass dies from green cardstock ad adhered them to the top of the card. I also cut a pink Skinny Imperial Rectangle Frame to frame the scene. I popped up the images with 3D foam squares and stamped a sentiment and a few music notes in black.

As a finishing touch I added a few sequins from the Pride Sparkle Mix and used glossy accents on the beaks and legs, and also on the tape recorder too. So retro and so cool!

I wish you enjoyed today’s reveals and you are ready to shop! Pre-orders are open and every purchase gets a freebie!

See you soon,

Heffy Doodle New Release Reveals – Day 2

Hello Everyone,

I am so excited to participate in the Heffy Doodle new release reveals! This release is huge and full of crafty goodness. Check out the Heffy Doodle blog for all the details.

For my card I used the cute Be Hoppy stamp and die set along with the new Ripple Waves stencil and Jumbo Jump for Joy sentiment die. All new products will be available on 7th March!

First I stamped and coloured the little frogs from Be Hoppy using Copic markers and cut them out with the coordinating dies. The colours I used are:

  • frogs: YG09, YG05, YG01, Y21, Y000
  • leaves: G19, G17, G03
  • flowers: RV17, RV14, RV13, RV11

Then I die cut the Jump for joy sentiment from green cardstock 4 times and the shadow from black cardstock. On the top layer I did some quick ink blending with Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide ink for a gradient look. Then I adhered all layers together and backed it with its shadow.

I wanted to keep the card simple so on a white card base I used the new Ripple Waves stencil with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxid ink without paying attention to even blending. Therefore in some places the pattern is darker and in some it is lighter. So cool! Before removing the stencil, I added clear shimmer mist to the background, which adds a subtle sparkle to the waves.

After assembling the card I stamped an extra sentiment under the die cut one from the Be Hoppy stamp set and embellished the car with Enchanted Moss Sparkle Mix.

I wish you enjoyed today’s reveals and will come back tomorrow for more fun! And don’t forget that every preorder after 28/02 gets a freebie!

See you,

Zsofi

Loads of Love – Heffy Doodle

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to another edition of my Perfect Combos series for Heffy Doodle. As it is Valentine’s Day today, I created a fun little farm scene for you mixing ad matching several stamp sets and stencils. Let me guide you through the process.

First I stamped and coloured the images from Farmyard Fun and Udderly Fabulous. I used Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers: GY5, GY3, GY, GY1, DR5, DR2, DR1, DR05, BG7, BG5, BG4, BG2, BG1, FS7, FS6, VB3,VB2, VB1, VB05, EB5, EB2, EB1. I used the coordinating dies to cut everything out.

Then I used the Green Fields stencil on a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock with Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide inks. I used a lighter hand towards the bottom to help the ink fade out. I wanted the sky to be a bit more whimsical than plane clouds so I used the Scribble on my heart stencil with Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide ink, fading it out towards the edge of the grass. I didn’t do any kind of masking just did not allow the inks to meet. So easy, yet special!

The sentiments are from both stamp sets, white heat embossed on strips of black cardstock. I popped up the images on the background with 3D foam squares, just as the sentiments. The scene building elements I adhered with liquid glue.

As a finishing touch I used a black glaze pen on the eyes of the cow, added white gel pen highlights randomly and used glossy accents on the wheels.

I hope you enjoyed today’s Perfect Combo and will check back later for more inspiration. If you like my cards, please make sure to follow me on Instagram where I also share my happy creations! Thank you!

Pretty Pink Posh Birthday Release Blog Hop

Hello Everyone,

I am so excited to be part of the new release blog hop with Pretty Pink Posh! They are turning 9 this month and the we celebrate in style with a 4 days long blog hop. The new release is full of birthday themed stamps, dies and stencils, check them out!

For my card I used the Birthday Signs stamp set and stamped the cute crocodile and cupcakes on Neenah Solar White cardstock. I coloured the images with Copic markers and cut them out with their coordinating dies.

While I was die cutting I die cut also 2 tags using the Birthday Sentiments coordinating die set: one white and one aqua as I wanted to make them a see-through shaker tag. I covered the open areas with acetate and used thin foam strips to create a funnel which I filled with Citrus Mix jewels. I also added a decorative eyelet to the top and finished it off with twine. I adhered the croc and the cupcakes and my focal panel was ready!

For the background I used the new Layered Party Hats stencils on lime cardstock. For the first layer I used Twisted Citron Distress Oxide ink, then for the second and third layers I used Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink. I love the tone-on-tone look I got this way! To match the party hat of the crocodile, I used Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide for the little star layer, I think it really pops!

I wanted to add another sentiment, so I used the Large Celebrate Shadow die ad cut it from blue metallic cardstock. I wanted it to look as it is foiled, so I did not use the shadow die for it.

As a finishing touch I added a bit of clear shimmer to the party hat and cupcake holders, and added glossy accents tot he candle and the teeth of the croc.

Better Together – Pretty Pink Posh

Hello Everyone,

I have a fun little card to share with you today, which I made with supplies from Pretty Pink Posh. I am totally in love with layering stencils and I enjoy coming up with different colour combos for each, but I had another idea for the Layering Cherries stencil from their latest release. Let me show you!

First I did a quick ink blending on Neenah Solar white cardstock with Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink. Then I used the first layer of the Layering Cherries stencil set with Lumberjack Plaid Distress Oxide ink. I love this red colour, my absolute new favourite! I added a tiny bit of Aged Mahogany to the bottom of the cherries. For the stems I used Rustic Wilderness first and then realized that the cherry stems are rather brown, so I went back with Ground Espresso. This way the result is a brownish green, perfect for the pink background! For the leaves layer I used the same green but wanted to lighten them a little, so I went back with Twisted Citron. After removing the last layer I generously spritzed the panel with water from a mini mister and dabbed it off with a paper towel after 30 seconds.

In my head I visualized smiling cherries, so I added little faces to each using the Ghost Friends stamp set. As I had to ink up only the face of each ghost, I used a black Memento marker on the eyes and noses instead of an ink pad. It worked perfectly! I need to try this technique with sentiments too!

For the sentiment I chose the Love Sentiments stamp set, and simply stamped the text in the middle using Versafine Onyx Black ink. I trimmed the panel down tiny and gave it a dark red mat before adhering to a top folding A2 sized card base.

As a finishing touch I used some little white clay hearts from the Valentine’s Day Mix.

I wish you enjoyed this cute design and you will try this technique.

See you soon,

Zsofi

Newton’s Nook Desigs January Release – Day 2

Hello Everyone,

Let’s continue the January Release reveals today with Newton’s Nook Designs. On Day 2 we are showcasing the cute Newton’s Heart stamp/die set.

All new designs will be available on 20th January.

For my card I stamped and coloured the kitty using Copic markers: E44, E43, E42, E41, E01, E000, R89, R46, R27, R24. Before die cutting it with its coordinating die, I white heat embossed a sentiment in the middle of the heart. Doesn’t it look pretty?

Then I created the background: I did a quick ink blending on white cardstock with Fired Brick, Abandoned Coral and Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide inks. Then I placed the Meow stencil over it and went back with the same colours before spritzing it with Tart Cranberry Mica Spray. I love the texture and mess look it got this way! When it was dry, I cut it down to be slightly smaller than an A2 sized card front.

To hold my kitty, I created a tag using the Fancy Edges Tag die set: I cut the base from kraft cardstock, the fancy edge from red and added a white reinforcer. I embellished it with white ribbon and natural twine before popping it up at an angle with 3D foam squares on the background. I used 3D foam squares under the kitten too.

As a finishing touch I used a drop of glossy accent on the nose of the cat.
