You & me card – IPC#65

Inky Paws Challenge

Hello Everyone,

I am back again with fresh inspiration for the Inky Paws Challenge #65. The colours are so gorgeous together, I had to make a love card with them.

IPC65_zsm02

First I stamped and coloured the cute kitty couple from NND Newton’s Sweetheart set using Copics. I cut them out with the coordinating dies. Then I prepared a stencilled background by applying first some Spun Sugar Distress ink on Bristol Smooth cardstock and then through the NND Tumbling Hearts stencil some Worn Lipstick distress ink.

I die cut the word love (Lawn Fawn) 3 times from Guava cardstock, adhered them together, applied some Tonic Aqua Shimmer pen on them and covered I with Glossy accents.

20180208_170113 wm

To assemble my card, I cut a strip of green striped patterned paper and a thin stitched strip of dark brown cardstock as a contrast. I popped up the kitties with thin foam tape.

After my scene was all done, I went back and stamped the You&me sentiment from the NND Darling duos stamp set using peach ink. I finished it off with a scattering of clear sparkling jewels from Studio Katia.

I will link this project up to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge (Love is in the air) and Wednesday Challenge (It must be love) too.

Hope you got inspired and will join us in the Inky Paws Challenge. You have time until Friday (16th Feb) to link up your project and be eligible for winning the 20 USD gift certificate to the NND online store.

Alcohol inked focal point

love themed logo

Hello Everyone,

I am back with another Love Themed card, inspired by the current MFT Sketch Challenge #370.

Here is my card:

20180203_213658 wm

I had a pretty alcohol inked background in pink colours and I really wanted to use it as a focal point on my card. So I die cut a pierced heart from it and white heat embossed a sentiment from the new 100% loveable stamp set. I die cut another 2 stitched hearts from some scrap white cardstock and layered it under the heat embossed one. In this way I got instant dimension and also could manage the warping the heat embossing caused.

20180203_213420 wm

I also heat embossed a second sentiment on a black banner from the From the heart stamp set. I used the Rectangle STAX dies to cut a pink and a black and white striped rectangle, I adhered them to a white card base. I added the heart and finally the banner which I popped up with 3D foam tape.

20180203_213352 wm

As a final touch I added some pink heart sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

20180203_213403 wm

I will upload this project to the MFT Sketch Challenge #370 and to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Anything goes.

I hope you like my card and will return soon for more inspiration.

Have a great weekend,

Zsofi

I love you most card ft. MFT

love themed logoHello Everyone,

I continue my Love Themed Card Series with a quick and last minute post for this week’s MFT Sketch Challenge #369MFT Sketch Challenge #369.

20180129_151604 wm

I had a pre-coloured little elephant from the Adorable Elephants set (I used Zig Clean Colour Real Brush markers on Bristol Smooth cardstock) which I wanted to use. First I created the background by sponging Distress Oxide inks on Bristol Smooth cardstock, then added more ink through the Staggered hearts stencil. I moved the stencil several times and added more ink for more dimension. The Colours used are: Candied Apple, Picked Raspberry and Worn Lipstick.

20180129_151507 wm

I die cut the panel with a stitched rectangle die after it dried. I also cut a Linked Chain Circle Frame from white cardstock and a heart using a die from MFT Blueprints 22. On this piece I sponged the same Distress Oxide inks and added some splatters using Aged Mahogany distress ink. I added this darker colour to the edges, to make the heart stand out. I also spritzed it with Tsukineko Shimmer Spritz for a bit of sparkle.

20180129_151520 wm

When it was done, I put some Crystal glaze Nuvo Drops on the entire piece but it looked like a big blob so I removed it all with a piece of typing paper. Still it left some residue which gives a subtle shine to the heart embellishment.

20180129_151529 wm

The sentiment is from the More Essential sentiments set, white heat embossed on black cardstock. I used 3D foam tape when assembling the card and little heart sequins from Pretty Pink Posh as final touches.

20180129_151552 wm

I will linkthis projct to the MFT Sketch Challenge #369.

I hope you like this simple, technique-driven card design and will return for more inspiration soon.

Have a great day,

Love ya with Lawn Fawn

love themed logo

Hello Everyone,

It is Sunday night here and I am popping in with a card I made for the current Lawnfawnatics Challenge #21. The inspiration board look like this:

And here is my take on it:

20180128_155852 wm

I started with colouring the cute birds from the Season’s Tweetings mini set and cut them out with the coordinating die a couple of days ago as part of the 30days colouring challenge organised by the wonderful Kathy Racoosin.

20180128_160005 wm

Then I die cut some snow banks and birch trees from white cardstock using Lawn Fawn dies. I also cut the Love Ya sentiment from white and hot pink cardstocks and layered them together.

20180128_155904 wm

I assembled my scene on a piece of Lawn Fawn patterned paper so it covers the fron of an A2 sized card. I used thin 3D foam tape to get more dimension. I stamped the other part of the sentiment on the smaller snowbank using a dark pink ink.

20180128_155951 wm

I also die cut some hearts from a pink alcohol inked background I made earlier and covered them with glossy accent.

20180128_160059 wm

I added some Diamond stickles to the accessories of the little birds for some extra sparkle.

20180128_160109 wm

I will link this project up to the Lawnfawnatics Challenge #21 and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Layer it up.

I hope you like my card and will pop in tomorrow for some birthday fun.

See you,

Paper pieced love card

love themed logo

Hello Everyone,

I am popping in today with a quick post for the almost finishing MFT sketch Challenge #367. It is my second card in my Love Themed Card series this year.

My friend, Amy Yang inspired me to re-visit paper piecing. I recently ran into a nice paper pack at our local discount store (Aldi) and the simple red-white dots one caught my eye. I cut a 1,5 inch strip of it to cover part of a white card base.

20180114_140249 wm

I die cut 2 stitched rectangles: a red and a white one. On the latter I stamped the cute girl from a retired MFT Pure Innocence set and coloured with Copics. Then I stamped the image on the patterned paper again and cut the dress out with scissors. I ran a black marker on the edges before adhering it to the coloured one.

20180114_140346 wm

I stamped the sentiment from the same set in Versamark ink and white heat embossed on a black strip of cardstock. I made it to a banner and popped up on the card front with 3D foam tape.

20180114_140308 wm

A bit of stickled on the shoes and heart and a tiny amount of glossy accent on the hair charm finished it off.

20180114_140330 wm

I will upload this project to the MFT Sketch Challenge #367 and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Patterned paper.

I hope you like my card and will return son for more love themed fun.

See you soon,

Zsofi

Heavenly sweet

Foreword: I have decided to start a Love Themed Card Series after seeing how much you liked the Halloween and Holiday one last year. This is my first card within the series. Enjoy!

Hello Everyone,

It is finally weekend and I managed to put together a card I dreamt of 2 days ago. I imagined a very colourful and sparkly card with lots of cupcakes for the Lawnfawnatics challenge #20 Fun with food.

Here is the outcome:

20180113_104721 wm

I started with stencilling the clouds with distress inks on Bristol Smooth cardstock. Then I used another stencil (Honey Bee Stamps) for the sun rays and before removing the stencil I sprayed Tsukineko Shimmer Spritz over it for a subtle sparkle. I ran it through the Big Shot with a stitched rectangle die to give it a nice finished look.

20180113_104743 wm

Then I stamped my custom sentiment using Owen’s ABC and Guava ink from Lawn Fawn. The rest of it is from the Baked with love stamp set, stamped in black. When the stamping was all done, I die cut the panel with a Puffy cloud border die.

20180113_104736 wm

The cupcakes are all from the Baked with love stamp set, coloured with Copics and cut out with the coordinating dies. I used 3D foam tape to pop up the cloud border and the cupcakes.

20180113_104816 wm

And now the embellishments. I sprinkled quite a lot of iridescent star sequins using Ranger Multi Matte medium. I also added Tonic Aqua Clear Shimmer and glossy accents to the cupcake holders. Then for the first time ever I pulled out my Tonic Jewel Drops and added teeny tiny dots to the cupcakes as little sprinkles or icing. I am in love with the end result, it is just gorgeous!

20180113_104803 wm

I will submit this card to the Lawnfawnatics Challenge #20.

I hope you like my card and will return soon for more fun.

See you soon,

Something to make you happy

Hello Everyone,

I am popping in with a quick post (as the second for today) to share a simple design I created for the MFT Sketch Challenge this week.

20180106_134618 wm

Before I started with the card I had to find the patterned paper I envisioned in my head. It was not easy but I came across this one from a  Pink and Main set and found matching cardstock too.

20180106_134729 wm

I die cut 3 pierced hearts and glued them on the patterned paper which I trimmed down a little bit. I die cut the word Happy from the Happy birthday to you die-namics 3 times from white cardstock and once from black. I tacked them together offsetting the black one to look like shadow.

20180106_134655 wm

I also heat embossed a sentiment from the All smiles stamp set on a black banner and popped it up with 3D foam tape.

20180106_134648 wm

A few clear sequins finished off this simple design.

I will upload this to the MFT Sketch Challenge 366.

I hope you like my card and will return soon for more inspiration.

See you soon,

Zsofi

Inky Paws Challenge #63

Inky Paws Challenge

Hello Everyone,

Today is the start of a new Inky Paws Challenge and it is all for the pink lovers out there 🙂

Image may contain: text

20180103_124336 wm

For my card I created a watercolour background using Zig Color Real Brush markers, just scribbling some on Bristol Smooth cardstock and swiping it with a wet baby wipe. I love the ease and beauty of this technique. I also distressed it with water droplets and dabbed it off with a paper towel. When it was all dry, I die cut a stitched rectangle from it and used the Mama  Elephant starry backgrounds cover plate to cut the little stars. I backed this with some silver glitter paper.

20180103_124325 wm

I then stamped and coloured the kitties from the Newton’s Christmas cuddles stamp set using Copic markers and simple shading. I used the coordinating dies to cut my couple. I also die cut a stitched snowbank and a picket fence (Lawn Fawn dies) from white cardstock.

20180103_124351 wm

The sentiment is partly die cut from vellum and pink foil cardstock (Simon Says Stamp die) and stamped on the bottom of the snowbank (MFT You are a star stamp set).

20180103_124256 wm

I assembled the card, I used 3D foam tape to pop up the kitties. As a finishing touch I used glossy accent on the scarves and a mini pompom on the cap. Prefect for Valentine’s Day.

20180103_124308 wm

I hope you like my card and got inspired to play along with us on the Inky Paws Challenge. You have 2 weeks to link up your project and you might be the lucky one to win the 20USD gift certificate to the Newton’s Nook Design online store.

I will also link this project up on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge and Wednesday Challenge Something New (as the die cut sentiment is new to me).

Have a wonderful week,

Zsofi
