Heffy Doodle and WOW! Embossing Powders Collaboration Blog Hop

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to the Heffy Doodle and WOW! Embossing Powders Collaboration Blog Hop!
Design Team members from both companies are sharing inspiration using products from both companies!

CARD 1

For my first card I stamped an coloured the cute bats from HD Let’s Hang Out stamp set using Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers: BGR5, BGR3, BGR2, BGR1, FS7, FS6. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

Then I die cut a piece of heavy weight white cardstock with the biggest HD Imperial Stitched Rectangle die and used the HD Masquerade circle stencil to add Versamark ink. I used the ink pad directly on the paper, I could apply more ink this way. I heat embossed it with WOW Tarnished Teal embossing powder to get a perfect night sky. Looks gorgeous with all the colourful pieces!

Then I die cut a few HD Big Stitched Clouds from grey cardstock and dipped them in the Versamark ink pad to have them fully covered with the sticky ink. I heat embossed these with WOW Black Puff embossing powder. It has fantastic texture!

For the sentiment I used the HD Happy Halloween Shadow cut, I cut it from white cardstock 3 times and adhered them on top of each other. Then I dipped it in Versamark ink and heat embossed it with WOW Fluorescent Green embossing powder. I added a black shadow to it and assembled the card. I popped up the bats and 2 of the clouds with 3D foam squares for a dimensional look.

As a finishing touch I used a black glaze pen on the bats’ eyes, glossy accents on their noses and embellished the card with a few enamel dots from the HD Fright Night collection.

CARD 2

I started with ink blending a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock with Wilted Violet and Black Sooth Distress Oxide inks. I added a lot of splatters to the background: water and Finetec Pearlescent watercolour in white and purple.

When it was dry, I used the HD Messy Desk Stencil with Versamark ink directly on the paper and heat embossed it with WOW Fluorescent Green embossing powder.

Then I die cut the HD Trick or treat Jumbo seniment die 3 times from white cardstock and layered them on top of each other. I dipped it in Versamark ink and heat embossed it with WOW Obsidian embossing powder. It has different particles which look like marble when it is heated. The surface is so smooth and shiny like real marble, it is lovely to touch! I used another black die cut to cast shadow to the sentiment and make it pop off the card.

Newton’s Nook Designs and WOW collaboration

Hello Everyone,

Newton’s Nook Designs and WOW embossing powders are collaborating all week long to offer you inspiration using their products together! Both design teams will be sharing fun ways to use embossing powders on your projects using WOW embossing powders paired with Newton’s Nook Designs stamps! Here are my Fall themed projects:

CARD 1

I started with die cutting the leaves from the Autumn Leaves die set from white cardstock and covered them with Versamark ink.

I heat embossed each leaf with different embossing powders from the WOW Bursting with Colour set (Sunburst, Lavaburst and Berryburst). I repeated it twice. I love the texture on those leaves! The colours are gorgeous!

I adhered them to a kraft rectangle on which I heat embossed the sentiment from the Thankful thoughts stamp set. I used WOW Metallic Platinum embossing powder for this, it looks so pretty on kraft!

To keep the design simple I chose some golden foiled patterned paper from my stash and added a bit of brown twine (Lawn Fawn) on the top.

CARD 2

On my second card I used the same Autumn leaves just wanted to make them look like metal charms.

So for heat embossing I chose WOW Metallic Platinum, Caramel Macchiato and Metallic Gold sparkle embossing powders, and just as for the previous card, I repeated the embossing 2 times tor a thicker and smoother look.

I coloured the fox from Harvest tails with Copic markers and cut it out with its coordinating die. I also die cut a pretty square shaped tag from white cardstock using the Frames squared die set. I also cut some grass with the Land Border die and made it gold with the same sparkle gold embossing powder and cut it with the same shape die.

The sentiment is heat embossed on a dark brown flag with WOW Metallic Platinum embossing powder.

For the background I used the Quilted Backdrop die from Lawn Fawn and cut it from kraft cardstock. The card base is kraft too, so it gives a pretty tone on tone textured look. I added a rounded rectangle (Frames and flags die set) die cut from brown plaid pattered paper (Lawn Fawn) and assembled the card.

The only extra finishing touch was a drop of glossy accents on the nose and the stem.

There are more amazing projects today over on the WOW blog so pop over there for more inspiration!

Halloween Bunny

Hello Everyone,

I am here with a clean and simple Halloween card as part of the Sneak Peeks of the super fun September release at Pink and Main.

I started with stamping the witch-bunny from the Less tricks set on alcohol ink friendly cardstock and coloured it with my Copic markers. I used the coordinating die to cut it out! I love how it rounds the edges, so pretty!

Then I created a simple ink blended sky using Distress Oxide inks: Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch, Faded Jeans and a bit of Black Soot. I added white pain splatters and dried it with a heat tool. Then I also added some shimmer mist and when it was dried I went back with some black soot splatters too. it would have been pretty without it too, but I enjoy building up texture.

I made sure it was all dry before I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powders. Then I stamped a bunch of stars from the same set with Versamark ink and used WOW Metallic Silver sparkle embossing powder on them.

I added thin trips of Silver Glitter cardstock on the edges of my panel and matted it with black cardstock before adhering it to a top folding white notecard. Then I popped up the bunny with 3D foam squares and embellished it with glossy accents on the stars of its gown and on the mask. Isn’t it adorable?

I hope you enjoyed today’s sneak peek and will check back later for more. All new products will be available on 20/09!

See you soon,

Zsofi

Pink & Main and WOW Collaboration Blog Hop

Hello Everyone,

I am so excited today as I am part of a wonderful Blog Hop between Pink and Main and WOW. I love their embossing powders, I actually own quite a few of them as their price point and size is just perfect.

Before diving in the card I created for the occasion, let me show you how I swatch my embossing powders.

WOW_P&M_BlogHop_zsm01

I cut a bunch of Stitched Arch tags from Neenah White 110lb cardstock and used the Pattern maker stamp set to make my swatches. I inked it up with clear embossing ink and poured the different embossing powders on it. I used coffee filters to catch the remaining powders, in this way I could funnel it back to the jars. I heated them with a heat tool and used a ring binder to hold the tags together. For the white powders I used black cardstock.

And now lets get in the details of my card.

WOW_P&M_BlogHop_zsm03

I stamped, coloured a bunch of images from the Eskimo kisses stamp set and used their coordinating dies to cut them out. I wanted to make a mini scene in a picture frame, so I die cut a few Cloudy Frames and stacked them together using liquid glue. I covered the top layer with clear embossing ink and poured WOW Metalline Dark Blue embossing powder on it. I heated it with my heat tool and repeated the process 3 times until I got an even and quite thick layer. It looks like a metallic chipboard frame in this way, so fancy!

WOW_P&M_BlogHop_zsm05

I cut a light blue cardstock rectangle to back the frames and also used a Scalloped Waves die to cut my snowbanks from white glitter cardstock. If you don’t have glitter cardstock, you could easily make your own using embossing glitters from WOW!

WOW_P&M_BlogHop_zsm04

I assembled my scene and popped up the dog and the eskimo with 3D foam squares. For the background I used a patterned paper from the Be brave paper pad. I heat embossed the sentiments from the Wishes stamp set starting with the big “Wishes”. I used WOW White Puff embossing powder to get a snowy look. The texture is amazing and touch of it is so unique too.

WOW_P&M_BlogHop_zsm07

Then I heat embossed “sending” and “warm” around it using WOW Opaque Bright White embossing powder. I adhered the whole panel to a white top folding card base and the card is finished. I love how all the special effects make the scene so complete. And it was so easy to achieve with embossing powders.
