Have a girlie birthday! – Heffy Doodle

Hello Everyone,

I am back today with another edition of my Perfect Combos series for Heffy Doodle. May is a birthday heavy moth in my family and I needed a girlie birthday card for a 7 year-old princess. I mixed and matched a few sets and here is the result. Let me guide you trough how I made it.

First I stamped and coloured the images from Two by Two Zoo Animals and from Wrapped with Love stamp sets using Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers. I used girlish colours to match the recipient. I used the coordinating dies to cut them all out.

Then I die cut the Jumbo Happy Birthday sentiment from pink cardstock 3 times and stacked them together for a dimensional look. I cut the shadow from yellow cardstock.

For the background I chose patterned paper from The Great Show paper pad and gave it an orange mat. After assembling the card it was high time for finishing touches: clear shimmer on the sentiments for a subtle sparkle and glossy accents on the ribbons. It totally makes it special. And who doesn’t like a little glimmer and shine?

I wish you enjoyed my card today and share with us in our Facebook group if I inspired you. Follow me on Instagram if you like my cards, your support means so much to me! Thank you!

See you soon,

Newton’s Nook Designs May Release – Day 4

Hello Everyone,

We have reached the last day of the May Release reveals at Newton’s Nook Designs but we saved the sweetest for last. There cannot be any releases without a new Newton set, right? Today we are showcasing Newton’s Hanging Basket which comes with a coordinating die set,

All new products will be available on 19/05/2023.

For my card I stamped and coloured the sweet image using Copic markers and cut it out with its coordinating die. I imagined a real swinging card so I poked a hole on the nail using a pokey tool and an old mouse pad.

I die cut a scalloped rectangle from patterned paper and a smaller rounded rectangle from vellum using the Frames and Flags die set. The patterned paper is from the Cat’s Life paper pad. I poked a hole also on these two layers an attached the hanging basket to it with a tiny brad. This way it can really swing!

I stamped a sentiment on the bottom of the vellum with Black Staz-on ink and embellished the scene with a bunch of die cut leaves.

As a finishing touch I added clear shimmer to the heart the cat is holding and covered it with glossy accents. I popped up the whole panel with thin foam tape on a green mat before adhering it to a white card base.

Newton’s Nook Designs May Release – Day 3

Hello Everyone,

We are halfway through the May Release reveals at Newton’s Nook Designs but we still have some super cute new sets to show. Today is all about birds: Birdhouse Greetings has the most adorable images and it comes with a coordinating die set, There is also a new Birdhouse Line Stencil which allows you to create stunning quick cards.

All new products will be available on 19/05/2023.

CARD 1

For my first card I stamped and coloured a bunch of birdhouses from Birdhouse Greetings using Copic markers. I really enjoyed just sitting and colouring, I can totally relax this way. I cut everything out with their coordinating dies.

Then I did a quick ink blending on a white card base with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink and added a to of splatters: water droplets, white and black paint and some diluted Tumbled Glass ink. I love the texture it gives. I also die cut grass from light green cardstock with a Land Border die and added a bit of shading with Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink.

The sentiments I white heat embossed on black cardstock and just fussy cut them out with my scissors. After assembling the scene, I simply adhered the sentiments on the die cut images.

I used the small birds and butterflies as embellishments to enrich the scene. I used a white gel pen to add highlights and a black glaze pen to emphasize the eyes. I also used a clear shimmer pen on the wings and a drop of glossy accents on the bodies of the butterflies.

CARD 2

For my second card I used the Birdhouse Line stencil with Gathered Twigs distress oxide ink first and then added a layer of Transparent gloss paste over it. I set it aside to dry. When it wasn’t sticky any more, I added the second layer with Peacock Feathers and Blueprint Sketch.

For the birds I used Picket Fence Studios Paper Glaze in Sapphire Macaw colour. I love the texture and pearlescent shine.

After it was all dry, I cut the panel down and added a blue violet mat to it. The sentiment I stamped with turquoise ink from the Cozy Camper stamp set.

Newton’s Nook Designs May Release – Day 2

Hello Everyone,

It is Day 2 of the May Release reveals at Newton’s Nook Designs. We continue with a super cute set called Succulent Garden which comes with a coordinating die set. There is a new stencil this month called Trailing Leaves.

All new products will be available on 19/05/2023.

For my card I decided to stamp all the succulents on white, Copic friendly cardstock randomly and coloured them with Copic markers. I was really just playing with different greens and combined them with a touch of pink or yellow for a fun look. Then I took my favourite die from Framework to cut the panel down and adhered it to a kraft card base.

I white heat embossed a sentiment on a piece of black cardstock and cut it out with a banner die from Frames and Flags. I used 3D foam squares to pop it up.

As a finishing touch I added a few teeny tiny clear sequins in-between the plants. I love how much a few embellishments add to a card!

Newton’s Nook Designs May Release – Day 1

Hello Everyone,

I am so excited to be part of the new release reveals of Newton’s Nook Designs! Today we are showcasing a brand new line of hot foil products! YAY! Look at all those details! So pretty!

All new products will be available on 19/05/2023.

For my card I wanted to incorporate all the new hot foiling products so first time ever in my life, I used the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot foil machine with gold foil on these awesome new dies. I chose Hammermill 100lb white cardstock as I heard it is giving the best results and I was not disappointed. All my foiling turned out beautiful! I used the coordinating dies to cut all the fireflies, jar and sentiment.

Then I created an inked background: on a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock I ink blended Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire ad Black Sooth Distress Oxide inks. I added some water splatters and also diluted gold paint splatters. I used a Land border die to cut the grass and blended it with Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide inks. I added some diluted ink splatters to this piece too, I just love the look!

I used Mustard Seed Distress Oxide ink to add colour to the little bugs and the middle of the jar too. On the outer edge of the jar I used Blueprint Sketch, to match the night sky. I used the same gold paint for the top of the jar as for the splatters and black paint for the bodies of the fireflies. I made the wings shimmery with a clear shimmer pen.

I assembled the scene and popped up the white sentiment strip with the beautiful gold foiled sentiment on it using 3D foam squares.

Would you like to win the “Fireflies” Hot Foil Plates & Dies? This hot foiling set will be given away to ONE lucky winner! Get well soon, friend! – Heffy Doodle

Hello Everyone,

I am back today with another edition of my Perfect Combos series for Heffy Doodle. As you may know, Lesley has just had a surgery and she is at home recovering. I wanted to make a cute card specifically for her to cheer her up in these hard days. I mixed and matched a few stamps and dies from the latest release, let me guide you through the process.

First I stamped and coloured the images from the Two by Two Zoo animals stamp set using Copic markers. Then I die cut everything out with their coordinating dies.

While I was at die cutting I also cut a cute label with the Showtime frames from green cardstock and a set of white letters using the Moxie Alphabet dies. I spelled “friend” and adhered it on the top of the label with liquid glue. I stamped another sentiment under it from the Get well greetings stamp set.

For the background I chose a striped pattern paper from the Spring Breeze paper pad and added a slightly smaller vellum layer over it before adhering the green label. I popped up the coloured images with 3D foam squares and finished the card with a few sequins from the Enchanted Moss Sparkle Mix. I also used a black glaze pen on the eyes of the critters.

I wish you enjoyed my card today and share with us in our Facebook group if I inspired you. Follow me on Instagram if you like my cards, your support means so much to me! Thank you!

See you soon,
