Hey ghoulfriend – Heffy Doodle

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to another edition of my Perfect Combos series for Heffy Doodle. It is officially Fall and pumpkin season so I had to pair some orange gourd with my favourite ghost from the latest release. It is a simple design, let me show you how I made it.

First I coloured the pumpkins and ghost from the Costume Critters and Ghoulfriends stamp sets using Copic markers. Then I cut them out with the coordinating die.

I also die cut a tree from black cardstock with a die from the Elm street set and cut a wonky stitched rectangle from white cardstock to hold my scene.

I did a very quick ink blending with Distress Oxides for the background: Salty Ocean for the sky and Shabby Shutters for the ground. Before adhering the tree I used some white pigment ink on the branches to make it look more spooky.

I stamped a sentiment above the tree, matted the scene with black cardstock before mounting it on a patterned paper from the Fright night paper pad.

As a finishing touch I added twine on the top and some sequins from the Pumpkin Spice Sparkle Mix to the tree. I also used a black glaze pen on the eyed of the ghost and glossy accents on the pumpkin stems. So cute, isn’t it?

I wish you got inspired and ready for Halloween crafts. Don’t forget to show us what you create in our Facebook group, we love to see your cards!

See you soon,

STAMPtember with Newton’s Nook Designs

Hello everyone,

Iam thrilled to participate in Simon Says Stamp‘s STAMPtember event today with an exclusive set designed by Newton’s Nook Designs: Cozy Wishes! It is a limited edition stamp/die set available only at Simon Says Stamp, so when it is sold out, it is gone for good.

For my card I stamped and coloured the images with Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers: DR5, DR3, DR05, BO2, BO1, BO05, GY3, GY2, GY1, BG8, BG7, BG6, BG5, BG2, BG1, BG05. I also stamped the couch on patterned paper from the Lawn Fawn Sweater Weather Remix paper pad and added some shading with a grey marker. I fussy cut all the images and arranged the pets on the couch between the pillows.

Then I die cut a white scalloped rectangle with the Frames and Flags die set from Newton’s Nook Designs, cut a piece of patterned paper to fit inside the stitching and also added a thin strip of woodgrain cardstock as floor, which I have previously inkblended with Pumice Stone and Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide inks.

The sentiment I white heat embossed on a mustard banner and backed it with a smaller grey one (all dies are from Frames and Flags) before popping them up with 3D foam squares.

As a finishing touch I added clear shimmer to the blanket and pillows and emphasized some details with glossy accents.

I hope you got inspired and liked my card. Don’t forget, if you like this stamp set, act fast as all STAMPtember sets sell out in a few hours usually!

See you soon,

Fall vibes – Hello Bluebird

Hello Everyone,

It has been a busy week but I managed to carve out some time and make a cute card for the current Hello Bluebird Fall Challenge. I really love the colours of Fall, it inspired my card.

I started with stamping and colouring the images with Copic markers from the following Hello Bluebird sets: Pumpkin time and Fall buddies. I coloured the images a long time ago and don’t remember the exact colours I used, sorry for that. I cut everything out with the coordinating dies.

For the sentiment I first gold heat embossed the frame from Banner buddies on cream cardstock and added the gold embossed sentiments inside.

I used Antique Linen Distress Oxide ink to add some shading to the edges of the banner. The banner holder I die cut from gold metallic cardstock.

The background I kept simple, I did some ink blending on Bristol Smooth cardstock with Distress Oxide inks: Crackling Campfire, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed, Peeled Paint. Then the magical splatters: diluted ink, water spritz and black gouache. I also added some gold watercolour sprinkles, it makes it festive!

I assembled the card, popping up the critters with 3D foam squares. As a finishing touch I used glossy accents on the pumpkin stems, scarves and the cart wheel.

I also emphasized the eyes with a black glaze pen.

I will link this project up to the Hello Bluebird Fall Challenge and the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge (Sparkle and Shine).

I hope you liked my card and will pop in again soon!

See you,

Zsofi

Rainbow flower – Lawn Fawn

Hello everyone,

I am back today with a fun, rainbow flower card which I have created for the current Lawnfawnatics #132 Challenge (which has a rainbow theme).

All stamps and dies used are from Lawn Fawn. If you want to see a 3mins video on how I made this card, make sure to visit my Instagram.

I started with stamping the cute ladybug from Hey Lady, and the little speech bubble from A bug deal. The sentiment I stamped from the Pool party stamp set. I quickly coloured he ladybug with Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers and cut everything out with their coordinating dies. The colours I used are: IG9, IG7, IG5, DR4, DR2, DR05.

Then I die cut the Magic Iris Sunflower Add-on from Bristol Smooth cardstock and did a quick rainbow inkblending with Distress Oxide inks: Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet, Salty Ocean and Twisted Citron.

I also die cut the leaves and stem from the Stitched Flower Frame die set, and grass with a grassy border die and added colour the same way: Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness. For the background I chose the Stitched Clouds Backdrop, I cut it from Fog cardstock and used a detail blending brush to add white pigment ink to the clouds. It looks so cool!

When I assembled the card I used 3D foam squares under the petals for a bit of dimension.

As a finishing touch I used a black glaze pen on the eyes of the ladybug, and glossy accents on the wings.

I will also upload my card to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Die cuts.

I hope you liked my card and will pop in again soon for more inspiration!

See you,

Batty wishes – Heffy Doodle

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to another edition of my Perfect Combos series for Heffy Doodle. I was playing with the new release and came up with a fun interactive design idea. It’s very simple but so cute! Let me show you!

First I coloured one of the bats from the Let’s Hang Out stamp set using Copic markers. Then I cut it out with the coordinating die.

For the background I took a piece of white cardstock and created purple clouds with the Cloudy sky stencil and Villaneous Potion and Milled Lavender Distress Oxide inks. I moved from the top of the cardstock and on the bottom I used the Sleepy Hollow stencil and Black Soot ink for the graveyard. I added a ton of splatters with Finetec Pearlescent Pearl paint and also some diluted purple ink.

I used the Celestial Corner die to cut tiny stars on the top of the stenciled panel and backed it with silver glitter cardstock.

I also die cut the Happy Halloween Shadow word die from purple glitter cardstock and the shadow from black cardstock and adhered them together.

To frame the whole scene I cut the frame from the Elm street die set from purple cardstock and glued it to the scene.

And now the interactive part: I tool a small piece of very thin silver thread and attached one end to the back of my bat with Scotch tape. The other end I attached to the back of sentiment, which I popped up on the card with 3D foam squares. This way the little bat can fly around, so cute! I will have a short video on my Instagram to show you this card in action, visit me there!

I wish you got inspired and ready for Halloween crafts. Don’t forget that every order above 30 GBP gets this adorable freebie, and if you spend above 45 GBP, you will get the coordinating dies too.

See you soon,

Halloween Inspiration Week – Newton’s Nook Designs

Hello Everyone,

This week Newton’s Nook Designs is getting ready for Halloween with a fun Inspiration week! All week the NND Design Team will be sharing inspiration using some of their favorite Halloween products to get you in the mood for tricks and treats! Check out what I created today and don’t forget to check the NND Blog each day this week for more fun inspiration!

For my card I stamped the cute images from Halloween Pile and Happy Howl-oween sets on Bristol Smooth cardstock with Versafine Onyx black ink and clear heat embossed them. Then I used my Tombow markers to paint the images and cut them out with their coordinating dies.

I created a very shimmery background on Ranger Distress Watercolour cardstock with Nuvo Shimmer powders. I just spritzed the cardstock with water, added some powder and spritzed again. I heat set it with my heat tool and repeated the process until I was happy with the colour darkness. It is so easy and fun!

When the panel was dry I trimmed it a little to fit in a black postage edge rectangle which I cut with a die from Frameworks. I also cut a Fence from white woodgrain cardstock and grass from green ink blended cardstock with the Land border dies.

I assembled the scene, popped up the images with 3D foam squares and white heat embossed a sentiment in the middle.

As an embellishment I added a heat embossed bat. It looks so cool with the shiny finish!

I hope you enjoyed my Halloween inspiration today. Don’t forget to visit the Halloween Products Category at Newton’s Nook Designs and get your favorites for creating cute and spooky Halloween crafts!

Trick or treat – Heffy Doodle

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to another edition of my Perfect Combos series for Heffy Doodle. As the pre-order of the new release has started already, I thought I will show you a clean and simple Halloween card design mixing and matching stamps, dies ad papers from the new release. Let’s dive in.

First I stamped and coloured the most adorable ghosts from Ghoulfriends using Copic markers. The colour I used are: C3, C0, C00 and a blender pen. Then I used the coordinating dies to cut them out and made their eyes shiny with a black glaze pen.

Then I die cut the Trick or Treat Jumbo sentiment twice: once from black cardstock and once from a glittery purple. I cut the letters from the purple one and adhered them on top of the black one slightly offset, so it looks like it has shadows. I left the spiderweb with the spiders and the bats purely black, it stands out more.

I chose a purple diagonal striped patterned paper from the new Fright Night paper pad and cut it down to be slightly smaller than an A2 sized card front. I gave it a black mat before adhering it to the cardbase.

I used liquid glue to adhere the sentiment in place which gave me enough time to tuck the little ghosts under the letters.

So simple, but adorable, don’t you think? I wish you got inspired and ready for Halloween crafts. Don’t forget that every pre-order now gets this adorable freebie, and if you spend above 45 GBP, you will get the coordinating dies too.

Happy shopping and see you soon, ghoulfriends!
