Inky Paws Challenge – Glitter

Hello Everyone,

Today is the start of the new Inky Paws Challenge #60 and it is all about sparkle.

Here is my card as inspiration:

I wanted to make a very dimensional scene, therefore I cut several Scalloped stitched rectangle frames from Pretty Pink Posh. I love to recycle packaging materials, like the backing of the stamp and die sets when building a dimensional frame. Noone will ever see and it is thicker a bit than any of the cardstock I have. The last layer is cut from silver glitter paper.

20171114_141619 wm

Before adhering the background scene, I also die cut some Lawn Fawn Birch trees and 2 stitched hillside borders from white cardstock. I also heat embossed in white the snowfall background stamp from MFT on vellum. I cut a blue rectangle as a background and built my layers. My “sandwich” is: blue background, 3 birch trees, 2 frames stacked, vellum, snowbank, birch trees again, frame, snowbank, frame, glitter frame. I get a lot of dimension this way without using foam tape.

20171113_153310 wm

The images are from the adorable Santa Paws Newton set, coloured with copics and die cut with the coordinating dies. I also stamped the sentiment from the Snow globe scenes with Versamark and white heat embossed it on a piece of dark red cardstock.

20171114_141628 wm

I adhered my shadow box style scene on a piece of metallic dark red cardstock and this went on a white A2 sized card base. A bit of my usual finishing touches I could not leave out: Spectrum Noir shimmer pen on the snowbanks and the Santa costume, some glossy accent on the belt and noses and the pole.

Holiday Card Series 2017 – cute tags

White and blue snowflakes on a dark paper background.

Hello Everyone,

I am so behind with my Christmas tags this year, last year I made like 20 different designs for my mum’s colleagues. This year this is the first one 🙂

20171118_141741 wm

I started with die cutting some white tags (MFT Blueprints Tag Builder) from very heavy weight cardstock. I stamped the cute dog from the MFT Santa Paws set on them and coloured with Prismacolor pencils. I used a bit of Gamsol to blend the colours (first time to use this product and I love it!)

20171118_141759 wm

Then I added a Hungarian sentiment on the back stamped with Altenew Parrot ink. Such a beautiful green shade!

20171118_141817 wm

I added a strip of glitter wrapping paper to the bottom and a stitched strip of dark brown cardstock. I also die cut the reinforcers from metallic brown and the glitter wrapping paper and glued them on the front and back of the tags.

20171118_141829 wm

As a finishing touch, I added a bit of Spectrum Noir shimmer pen to the collar and the Santa hat and a bit of glossy accent on the nose and jingle bell. A little gold string finished it off.

20171118_141842 wm

I will upload this project to several challenges: SSS Monday Challenge It’s a Stitch up, SSS Wednesday Challenge Furry friends and also to the MFT Blueprints Construction Challenge Holiday tags.

I hope you like my tags and will return soon. I will try to post more often, there is a lot to share and time is flying.

See you hopefully tomorrow,

Holiday Card Series 2017 – #4 window card

White and blue snowflakes on a dark paper background.

Hello Everyone,

It is Monday and time for a new Inky Paws Challenge #59 inspiration.

Image may contain: text

The colours are gorgeous, so cozy for me. That gave me the thought to make a cozy inside scene which we see through a window.

20171107_153841 wm

I started with die cutting the MFT window die in the middle of a white heavy weight card base. After that I took an MFT brick stencil and sponged some brown shades of distress inks. I die cut the window frame twice from dark brown cardstock and a piece of acetate to go in between. I also die cut a sentiment from red foil cardstock (DCWV).

20171107_154044 wm

After assembling the outside of the card, I stamped the cute image from the Newton’s Nook Designs Fireside friends in the inside. I coloured it with Prismacolor Pencils.

20171107_154001 wm

When it was all coloured I added Spectrum Noir shimmer pen on the fire and the bow and a little glossy accent to make the image even more special.

I hope you got inspired and will return soon for more holiday fun. You can play along the IPC 59 until this Friday so hurry! You may be the lucky winner of the 20 USD gift certificate to the NND online store.

Holiday Card Series 2017 – sweet puppy card

winter backdrop wm.jpg

Hello Everyone,

If you follow me on IG, you might have seen that I was inspired by Jennifer McGuire and was playing with alcohol inks for the first time ever in my life. It is totally addictive, I am looking for a quick restock option for the Yupo paper so I can continue playing 🙂 This technique definitely worked better for me with Yupo than with regular glossy photo paper.

20171109_103617 wm

So I turned one of my backgrounds to a simple but cute Christmas card for the MFT Sketch Challenge 358.

Here is my card:

20171112_094110 wm

I stamped and coloured the cute puppy from the new Birdie Brown set using Copic markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut it out. I also cut several  MFT Dotted circle frames an adhered them on top of each other for more dimension.

20171112_094131 wm

I chose a Hungarian sentiment (Merry Christmas) and heat embossed with Ranger Verdigris embossing powder on a strip of white cardstock. I repeated the heat embossing another time and once more with a clear embossing powder to achieve a really raised an shiny look.

20171112_094205 wm

I adhered the alcohol inked background to a top folding white card base, added the circle frame and sentiment and popped up the puppy with 3D foam tape in the middle.

20171112_094213 wm

A bit of Spectrum Noir Shimmer pen on the cap and scarf and glossy accent finished off this cute little card.

20171112_094219 wm

I will upload this to the MFT Sketch Challenge 358.

Hope you like my card and will come back soon for more inspiration.

See you,

Zsofi

Holiday Card Series 2017 – #2 Jingle card

White and blue snowflakes on a dark paper background.

Hello Everyone,

I am back today with a special Jingle card I created based on the MFT Sketch Challenge 357.

I stamped and coloured the cute elephant from the MFT Adorable Elephants and the Beast Friends setts using Copic Markers. I used the coordinating dies to die cut the images.

20171106_154940 wm

Then I cut a stitched rectangle from dark grey cardstock (Blueprints 25) and a piece of patterned paper slightly smaller than that. I also die cut a stitched banner (Lawn Fawn) from silver cardstock and a double stitched square from dark red. I glued the elephant to this and poked 2 holes above the legs of the elephant. I used a soft red-white twine to attach a jingle bell.

20171106_154854 wm

I heat embossed a sentiment from the Jingle all the way stamp set with white embossing powder on dark grey cardstock and cut it out with a banner die. I assembled the card, used 3D foam tape for the sentiment banner.

20171106_154844 wm

A bit of Spectrum Noir shimmer pen on the Santa hat, black glaze pen on the eyes and 2 white matte enamel dots embellished my card. I love how it jingles when I shake it!

20171106_154921 wm

I will link this up to the MFT Sketch Challenge 357.

I hope you like it and got inspired. If you like my cards please subscribe to my blog in order not to miss any of my holiday cards.

Holiday Card Series 2017 – #1

winter backdrop wm.jpg

Hello Everyone,

Hope you had a great weekend. Welcome to my Holiday Card Series 2017. It is Monday again, a new Inky Paws Challenge is starting today with beautiful Christmas colours which inspired my very first card in this series.

Image may contain: text

20171101_135612 wm

For my card today I knew I wanted a chalkboard effect. So I took a piece of black cardstock and die cut a stitched rectangle from it. I used a sponge dauber and dabbed some white pigment ink on the edges. I made sure it is dry before I stamped my sentiment and heat embossed in white.

20171101_135653 wm

I also stamped and coloured the kitty with a striped scarf from the Newton’s Holiday Mischief stamp set using Copic markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut it out. I die cut some pine tree branches (MFT die) from dark green and apple green cardstocks, and a bow (Studio Katia) from red glitter fun foam. I assembled my scene, gave the chalkboard panel a green mat and adhered it to a red-white striped patterned paper (Doodlebug design).

20171101_135629 wm

As a finishing touch I used a white gel pen to add some freckles to the kitty, some Spectrum Noir shimmer pen and glossy accents on the scarf.

20171101_135706 wm

I hope you like my card and got inspired to play along at the Inky Paws Challenge #59. You have 2 weeks to upload your project to be eligible to win a 20 USD gift certificate to the NND online store.

I will upload this card to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Calling all critters great and small

See you soon with more holiday cards and tags,

Happy Halloween – last card

halloween backdrop wm

Hello Everyone,

The day has come, it is Halloween and I am showing you my last card this year in the Last Minute Halloween Card-series. It was a fun week full of cards and bright colours 😀 I cannot deny myself 🙂

20171031_161828 wm

For the last card I used Lawn Fawn and Clearly Besotted images, coloured with Copics and fussy cut.

20171031_161930 wm

To build my scene I made a galaxy background first with watercolours and white acrylic paint. It is not showing much, only when you take a closer look. I also die cut a birch tree die (SSS) within a wonky stitched rectangle, which I popped up on the background using 3D foam tape. I die cut a large stitched rectangle from a purple plaid paper (Lawn Fawn) and adhered my scene on this.

20171031_161900 wm

The sentiment is from the Happy Howl-o-ween Lawn Fawn set, I white heat embossed it on a stitched black banner.

20171031_161908 wm

I used Wink of Stella clear shimmer pen (a bit less sparkly than the Spectrum Noir one) on the ghosts and the dress of my cute witch. I also emphasized some details with a black glaze pen and glossy accents.

20171031_161853 wm

I will upload this project to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Anything goes.

I hope you enjoyed my card series, I am thinking of doing the same soon for Christmas. Let me know in the comments below if you were interested! I appreciate your feedback so much!

Have a lovely fright night and Happy Halloween!

Zsofi
