Halloween Card Series 2018 – Day 4

halloween_2018_FB

Hello Everyone,

I am back today with the 4th Halloween card in my Halloween Card Series. It is all about cute owls from Clearly Besotted. I told you, I am into cutie but not spooky 😀

HalloweenCardSeries_CB_zsm01IG

I stamped and coloured the owls from the Clearly Besotted Whoo to you stamp set. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

I created a stencilled background on a top folding white card base, using the Delicate Web stencil from Memory Box with Iced Spruce and Black Soot Distress Oxide inks and a stencil brush. I wanted a softer look, that is why I used the brush instead of the foam applicator.

The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Handlettered Halloween, embossed in white on black cardstock. I used the coordinating die to cut this out and adhered it to a striped patterned paper from the Doodlebug Pumpkin Party paper pad. I added a thin strip of glitter paper on the top of this and matted it with black cardstock before adhering it to the background.

I popped up the owls with 3D foam squares, and added glossy accents to their eyes. In the last moment I decided to stamp a few bats in the background and also some additional sentiments from the Whoo to you stamp set. I love how those little added texts became part of the design.

I will link this project to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge  and Wednesday Challenge (Halloween/Spooky).

I hope you like this card and will pop in again soon for the next one! There is still time till Halloween 😀

Magical birthday – Under the sea Card Series #8

undertheseaFB_02

Hello Everyone,

I am back with a magical birthday card today featuring Clearly Besotted stamps and dies. This is the 8th post in my Under the sea Card series. As August is ending I think it is time to switch to Fall themed cards, so I decided to have only one last post tomorrow (celebrating the month of Stamptember). I had many more stamps, dies, stencils, ideas to make, but the time was too short. At least I will save them for next year 🙂

UTScardseries_CB_01IG

So for today’s card I stamped, coloured and die cut the beyond cute images from Clearly Besotted Fairy tale mermaid an Make a splash sets. I used Copic markers and a black glaze pen to emphasize the eyes and a white gel pen to add some details.

For the background I masked off a strip using Purple tape on a top folding white note card. I sponged the sun first using the Sunscape stencil from Newton’s Nook Designs and Mustard seed and Wild honey distress inks. Then I applied Tumbled glass for the sky. I moved the mask and sponged the sea with Salty ocean distress ink. I used a mini die from the MFT Otterly love you die set to cut a slot for my dolphin.

I also die cut a white strip of cardstock using a pretty border die from Poppy Stamps. I felt it matched the scene so well. I stamped the sentiment in black and arranged the images on the scene. I adhered everything flat except for the mermaid, I popped her up with a thin foam tape (Simon Says Stamp).

As a finishing touch I added Sprinkles to the tale and some glossy accent to the starfish and the bra. I also covered the sun with a layer of clear shimmer using my Tonic Aqua Shimmer pen.

I hope you like today’s inspiration and that you will check back for the last post in this series.

Till then happy crafting,

Zsofi

Happy Halloween – last card

Hello Everyone,

The day has come, it is Halloween and I am showing you my last card this year in the Last Minute Halloween Card-series. It was a fun week full of cards and bright colours 😀 I cannot deny myself 🙂

For the last card I used Lawn Fawn and Clearly Besotted images, coloured with Copics and fussy cut.

To build my scene I made a galaxy background first with watercolours and white acrylic paint. It is not showing much, only when you take a closer look. I also die cut a birch tree die (SSS) within a wonky stitched rectangle, which I popped up on the background using 3D foam tape. I die cut a large stitched rectangle from a purple plaid paper (Lawn Fawn) and adhered my scene on this.

The sentiment is from the Happy Howl-o-ween Lawn Fawn set, I white heat embossed it on a stitched black banner.

I used Wink of Stella clear shimmer pen (a bit less sparkly than the Spectrum Noir one) on the ghosts and the dress of my cute witch. I also emphasized some details with a black glaze pen and glossy accents.
