Black & white challenge

Hello,

Today I am showing you a card that I made for Mother’s Day too. I love colour and almost all my cards are really colourful. But this time – in order to try myself in a PS challenge – I made a black and white card with a little pink.

20160426_155156 (2)

First, I stenciled black stripes on a white cardstock with Lawn Fawn Black Licorice ink. Then I ran this through my Big Shot machine with an A2 sized stitched rectangle die and a decorative tag die from Paper Smooches (oh I love this die, so feminine). I die cut one of the dainty flowers from Paper Smooches from pink cardstock and attached the outline image to my tag. For the sentiment I used the “wonderful” word die from PS Kudos words set and stamped the “you are” from the spreading sunshine stamp set.

I popped up the tag with black fun foam which I de cut with the same tag die. I finished the card with some pink and clear sequins from my stash and some glossy accent on the top of the flower.

Sziasztok!

A feliratot fehér kartonból vágtam. A vágókések nagy része Paper Smooches.

Die cut Mother’s Day card

Hello,

It has been so long since my last blog post. I was busy crafting but no time remained for blogging. As Mother’s Day is in a week in Hungary, I felt I need to post a card I made for my beloved mum (Mum, please forget that you saw this..)

20160424_163757 (2)

I wanted to use the little flowers die from SSS, I just love how small they are. I die cut a heart on a piece of polka dot paper and placed the little flowers in 3 colours all the way the heart outline. I heat embossed a Hero Arts sentiment on a piece of woodgrain cardstock with silver embossing powder and die cut the Lawn Fawn script mom die 3 times: 2 from plain heavy weight cardstock and once from the same woodgrain cardstock I used for my sentiment.

20160424_162912 (2)

20160424_162833

To embellish the flowers I used some pearls from our local hobby store (Rayher): silver, white and glass. I love how the light reflects on those little pearls, like a little jewel.

I wish my mum will like it, I made it with all my heart 🙂

I would like to sign this project for the SSS Wednesday Challenge, Make it girlie.

Masked birthday card with Penny Black stamps

Happy Monday,

Today I am popping in with a very quick post. I made this card for a little girl who lives in Finland, so it will have a long journey. Not to get ruined in the mail, I tried to keep it simple.

20160407_170225 (2)

I used a stamp set from Penny Black to stamp the dog and duckie with the balloons on white cardstock which I previously die cut with SSS Stitched rectangles die. Then I coloured the images with alcohol markers and masked them. I die cut some clouds from masking paper with a Penny Black clouds die, placed them on my scene and sponged the background with Tumbled glass distress ink. I die cut 2 cloudy borders, one white and one vellum, layered them and glued them to my scene. I stamped my sentiments from some other stamp sets on the white layer with Lawn Fawn lobster ink and SSS Intense Black ink. By the way I use the latter to stamp my images too, it is alcohol marker friendly.

20160407_170045 (2)

As a final touch – as always – I added some shimmer and glossy accents to the balloons and some of the details of the images, black gel pen for the eyes and some PPP Clear sequins. I also went over the “Hooray” with a red Sakura glitter pen.

20160407_170147

I usually don’t, but this time I dressed up the card from inside too: another puppy pic and a SSS sentiment stamped in teal made a real difference.

I hope you like it and the recipient will also.

This card I am entering the SSS Happy Birthday Wednesday Challenge, it is my 3rd entry.

Cool card for a cool day

Hello again,

I am so grateful to my minis that they allowed me yesterday to finish my penguin card. I wanted to use the Birthday Waddles stamps and dies since I got it few weeks ago from Your Next Stamp. Finally I had the chance, here is my card.

20160409_164021-1

I made a balloon stenciled background a while ago with distress inks (cracked pistachio and pine needles if I remember well), which was perfect for this card. I die cut a stitched oval in the middle, popped it up with foam tape and placed an embossed vellum in the cut out place to add some texture. I coloured my penguin and balloons with Shinhan alcohol markers and die cut them with the coordinating dies. I also die cut white fun foam with the penguin die and glued my image on top, to support my image when adding to the vellum. I love the look and in this way I don’t have to be afraid that the balloon string would bend or get torn. If I had time I would have done the same with the other 2 balloons too, but for this card I just glued them on the balloony frame. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set on an orangish stitched fishtail banner and I die cut an extra from yellow cardstock too. My card base today is dark green to match the balloon background.

Here is a close up on the shine on the balloons, which I got using glossy accents and clear wink of stella.

Paper piecing birthday card

Happy Saturday! 🙂

Having 2 small kids weekends are not about sleeping long, but at least I cannot complain about lack of entertainment..my little ones are really active and love to wake up early to prolong the playing time.

The card I want to share today was inspired by my daughter, she loves balloons and loves flowers and really looks like the girl in this SSS stamp set (Lila’s Heart). I wanted something dimensional yet simple, so here is what I made.

20160409_163758-1

First I stamped and coloured the girl  and 3 balloons with alcohol markers, and cut them with the coordinating dies. I stamped the girl on patterned paper once more, fussy cut the dress and glued on top of the original one. I die cut all my elements from white fun foam to add dimension. I just found it easier than gluing with foam tape and I really like the look of the whole images popped up. I added some details with a white gel pen, some shimmer with wink of stella clear glitter pen and of course a ton of glossy accent.

20160409_163659_00120160409_163652_001

Before adhering my images on a piece of white cardstock, I sponged some cracked pistachio distress ink as a shadow where I wanted my girl and balloons. As I wanted the Happy Birthday sign to be in Hungarian, I printed the panel first (I really wish to have Hungarian sentiments in different sizes and fonts..).

20160409_163718

Then I put the card together, starting with a little strip of the same patterned paper as I used for the dress, then a little scalloped border cut from glitter cardstock o make it even more girlish and soft. To “land” the girl, I used a thin strip of teal cardstock which matched the patterned paper. For the balloon strings I used a very thin metal thread from DMC.

I hope you like it. I am entering this card in the SSS Wednesday Challenge.Simon Wednesday Challenge Blog

Sziasztok,

Remélem kellemesen telik a  szombat.

2016-04-09 16.50.16

A lufik zsinórjaként ezüst cérnát használtam.

Remélem tetszik nektek is.

Üdv,

Happy Birthday card with digital stamps

Hello again,

Today’s post is about digital stamps – still. I must admit that I enjoy stamping and die cutting the most in paper crafting, but I cannot have enough of Elena’s illustrations, so I had to use the cute sheep image again. This time I created a birthday card.

20160327_162554-1 (2)

First of all I had to make the images smaller in order to fit 3 of them on my card front. I wanted the sheep to look like as they are hanging over the fence. I inserted my “we wish you a happy birthday” message in Hungarian in the tabs they are holding. After printing them, I coloured the images with alcohol markers and I fussy cut them out. To correct the imperfections, I used a black marker on the edges, which also helped my images to pop.

20160327_162726

To create the scene I used distress inks for the sky and grass on watercolor paper. I also added some water splatters and dried them with a paper towel for more texture. I did the same for the die cut grass borders. For the fence, I used woodgrain paper for die cutting. I love the stitched details, so I had to add some stitching to the background (Avery Elle Wonky stitches die) and to the clouds too (Lawn Fawn Spring showers). And of course I cannot make any cards without using glossy accents (for the nose of the sheep) and black glaze pen (for the eyes of the sheep).

2016-03-27 16.43.12

I hope you like my card and you will return for some more inspiration soon.

Sziasztok,

Addig is üdv,

Zsófi
