Pretty Pink Posh June Release Blog Hop

Hello Everyone,

I am so excited to be part of the Pretty Pink Posh June release Blog Hop with a cute out of this world card. I am completely in love with this boy-themed release, I was always struggling with making cards for boys but this month’s new stencils, stamps and die are all about vehicles, sports and space. It is the third day of the hop, so plenty of inspiration was already shared by fabulous designers. Make sure to hop along with us while we celebrate the little men in our lives!

For my card I stamped and coloured all the planets from the Outer Space stamp set using Copic markers. Some planets I stamped twice to have our whole universe. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

Then I cut a 4.25*5.5 inches dark blue cardstock and blended a bit of Black Sooth and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide ink on the edges. I spritzed it with a clear shimmer mist and also added some white acrylic paint sprinkles to make it look like galaxy. That is the easiest way for me to make a space background.

I popped up the planets in an oval shape with 3D foam squares for a fun dimension. In the middle I adhered a die cut sentiment, which I cut with the Hello Friend Script die from silver glitter cardstock. I added a white heat embossed sentiment under it on a tiny piece of black cardstock which I stamped from the Outer Space stamp set.

As a finishing touch I adhered a few “glow-in-the-dark” clay confetti stars and moons from the Starry Galaxy confetti mix. It looks so cool in the dark! As always I had to add a good amount of glossy accents to make the planets shiny and dimensional.

Happy yappy birthday! – Newton’s Nook Designs

Hello Everyone,

It has been a while since I last wrote a blog post, but I have something adorable to share today: a perfect and easy birthday card for your dog lover friends! I mixed and matched supplies from Newton’s Nook Designs, let me show you the process!

First I stamped and coloured the image from the Birthday Barks stamp set using Copic markers. Then I used the coordinating dies to cut it out.

For the background I used the Confetti Hot Foil plate on Hammermill white cardstock and a holographic gold foil. I warmed up the plate on the Spellbinders Gimmer Hot Foil station, placed the foil, cardstock and the shims and ran it through my die cut machine. This cardstock was a game changer for me, and I still consider myself a beginner at hot foiling. I also foiled a couple of sentiments with black foil using the Birthday Greetings Hot Foil plates. It is lovely to have them at hand for quick cards later too.

I added some quick ink blending on the edges of the cardstock with Abandoned Coral and Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide inks. I used a gold shimmer spray when it was done to add a subtle gold sparkle to the whole panel, let it dry and die cut it with a die from the Frames and Tags die set.

I cut the sentiment down to a thin strip and added a black Speech Bubble under it. This will make the whole card very playful. I adhered the foiled background to an A2 sized white notecard, popped up the dogs with 3D foam squares and added the sentiment. As a finishing touch I used a clear shimmer pen, a black glaze pen and glossy accents to emphasize some of the details.

I hope you enjoyed my card and will pop in again soon for more inspiration.

See you,

Zsofi
