Hello again,
Those of you who follow my blog know that I am struggling with masculine cards. I am trying and trying and will never give up, but it is the most difficult thing for me to do. This weeks MFT Sketch Challenge #299 inspired me to try a simple birthday one.
Here is the sketch:
And here is my card:
I started from inside out: first I die cut the circle frame from metallic brown cardstock. I also die cut a piece of vellum and embossed the Happy Birthday sentiment on it with gold embossing powder. Then I die cut the happy MFT die 2 times, one dark brown and one metallic gold and layered them slightly offset for the shadow effect.
I used the little star accents from Blueprints 25 as embellishments. Then I popped my focal panel on a piece of wooden patterned paper, I added a thin brown mat to it and glued it on a stitched kraft rectangle. All that I layered on a dark brown card base.
Simple yet many layers make this card special.
I hope you like it and will return soon.
See you,
Zsofi
