Winter Birthday card

Hello again,

Today I brought a winter themed birthday card, I created for this week’s Sketch Challenge for MFT. This is the sketch:

And this is my take on it.

First I covered the left side of a white card base with a dotted red washi tape (Doodlebug) and the rest with a soft snowflake patterned paper (Doodlebug too). To cover the meeting point I cut a strip of white cardstock with the Lawn Fawn Picket Fence die (I love this for thin strips with stitching).

The image is from a cute Birdie Brown set which I coloured back in the summer using ZIG Clean Colour Real brush markers. It is nice to have some ready images sometimes, makes card making a bit faster. I added some clear shimmer with a Spectrum Noir shimmer pen and some glossy accents to highlight the party hat and the balloon. I also used a black glaze pen on the eye of the sheep.

For my sentiment I cut two pieces of MFT stitched banners, a silver mat and a blue violet one. I white heat embossed the sentiments (MFT and Altenew) on the latter and glued them on top of each other.  I popped up the upper half of the sheep with a thin foam tape (SSS) for more dimension.

As a finishing touch I added 3 snowflake sequins and a tiny glitter enamel dot in the middle of the biggest one.

I will play along with this card in 3 challenges: MFT Sketch Challenge #315 and SSS Wednesday Challenge Winter Birthday and SSS Monday Challenge Chill out.

I hope you like my card for today and thanks for checking in.

See you soon,

Zsofi
