Therm O Web & Newton’s Nook Designs collaboration week

Hello Everyone,

This week Newton’s Nook Designs and Therm O Web are partnering for a fabulous inspiration week! All week long both design teams will be sharing ways to use Therm O Web products with Newton’s Nook Designs stamps! There are prizes too! Read all the way to the end of this post to find out how you can win!

I have got a Heidi Swap Minc Machine at the end of last year which I have not tried yet. I was itching to use the Rainbow Shattered Glass foil with some fun toner sheets from Brutus Monroe to try the machine. It makes wonders! So much better results than with my old, cheap laminator. Probably because I could choose the temperature. I have created 2 cards, both in rainbow colours. Let me show you one by one.

CARD 1

I started with foiling the Brutus Monroe Floral Fantasy toner sheet with Rainbow Shattered Glass Deco foil. It looked gorgeous on its own, but I had to do some ink blending in rainbow colours: Picked Raspberry, Candied Apple, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide inks. I also added some water droplets which I dabbed with a paper towel to get some ink lifted and added black splatters.

Then I stamped and coloured the Dainty Daisies stamp with Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers. The colours I used are: IG4, IG2, AG4, LG4, LG2, GY4, CT4, CT2 and a Blender pen to fade out the colours. I used the coordinating die to cut the flowers out.

While I was die cutting I cut a tag with the Fancy Edges Tag die set from vellum and also Fog cardstock. I layered them on top of each other, adhered the daisies and embellished the tag with ribbon a twine. I popped it up at an angle on the foiled background with 3D foam squares.

The sentiment is from the Best Mom Oval stamp set and I stamped it on a white banner which I partially die cut with a Banner Trio die.

I did not want to drive the attention away from the foiling so I kept the finishing touches very simple:: a little bit of clear shimmer and a drop of glossy accents on the middle of the flower centers and letters and it was all done!

CARD 2

For my second card I used the fabulous Wacky Waves Toner sheet from Laura Kelly with the Rainbow Shattered Glass Deco foil. I blended the same Distress Oxide inks on the foiled background to get a rainbow gorgeousness. This time I added water droplets and black and white splatters too.

Then I stamped the Newton’s Cupcake stamp and coloured the kitty and the topping of the cupcake with Spectrum NOir Illustrator markers: BG6, BG4, BG2, BG05, FS7, FS6, GY4, CT4, CT2, PP6, PP5, PP4, PP3, PP2, DR4. I used the coordinating die to cut it out. I had a little leftover piece from the foiled and inked background so I stamped the cupcake on it and fussy cut it out to be able to paper piece the cupcake holder. So fun!

To carry my focal image I created the same tags as above, just this time I stamped the sentiment directly on the foiled cupcake using Versafine Onyx Black ink and clear embossing powder.

As a finishing touch I added some white gel pen dots and a drop of glossy accents to the nose of the cat.
