Newton’s Nook Designs’ 6 year celebration – BLOG HOP

Hello Everyone,

I hope you enjoyed the last few days when we revealed the fabulous July release at Newton’s Nook Designs. All the new stencils, stamps and dies are available already in their online store and they have an anniversary sale too this weekend.

Today we have a special Blog Hop with fantastic giveaways, so make sure you read through till the end. For this special occasion I created a fun interactive summer card.

First I stamped and coloured the surfing kitty from Newton’s Perfect wave. I used Copic markers to add colour and die cut it with the coordinating die. I cut an extra piece from a scrap cardstock to make the image sturdier.

I also stamped the little fish from Scuba Newton, coloured them and cut them out with the coordinating dies. While I was already die cutting I cut the polaroid frames (Lawn Fawn Say Cheese, Again) 3 times from white cardstock and adhered them together.

On the inner pieces I created my little scenes with Distress Oxide inks. On the bigger one I sponged Tumbled Glass on the top for the sky and Mermaid Lagoon through the Splashes &Waves stencil. On the smaller one I used Mermaid Lagoon and added waves with Blueprint Sketch through the Clouds stencil turning it upside down.

For the background I chose a yellow patterned paper (Sunny Studio) and assembled the card. I stamped a sentiment on the bigger frame with black ink.

Then I adhered the fish with liquid glue, embellished them with glossy accents and added a few Chunky Confetti glitter from Studio Katia to look like bubbles.

Newton I popped up with a mini action wobble so he looks like trying to find his balance on the waves 🙂 So fun!
