Newton’s Nook Designs’ 6 year celebration – DAY 4

Hello Everyone,

It is the last day of the July release reveals at Newton’s Nook Designs. I warn you: it is a picture heavy post thanks to all the cute mini stamp/die sets left for the last day 🙂

CARD 1

My first card is a clean and simple one featuring the Gull friend stamp/die set. I love these birds, they mean summer to me somehow.

I stamped and coloured them with Tombow Markers and cut them out with the coordinating dies.

Then I set a mini scene with the use of an Avery Elle die (Diagonal Stripes) which I cut from textured white cardstock. I chose a light blue cardstock to be the background but sponged some Salty Ocean Distress ink on the edges of it to show through the frame. I also used the Waves&Splashes stencil to create an ocean background for the seagulls.

I die cut the word Hello using the Essential Alphabet die set 3 times and layered them on top of each other. On the last layer I sponged a bit of Salty Ocean Distress ink to match the background.

I assembled the card, stamped the sentiment in black and embellished it with some stickers from my stash (Little B). I also emphasized the birds’ eyes with a black glaze pen and added glossy accents to the beaks, legs and the hello sentiment too.

CARD 2

Watermelon is my favourite summer fruit and it suits Newton so much too 🙂 I stamped and coloured him with Tombow markers and cut him out with its coordinating dies.

I die cut a red striped patterned paper (Sunny Studio) with the postage edge die from the Frameworks die set and adhered it to a kraft card base.

For the kitty I created a tag with the Fancy Edges Tag die set. The base is from white linen textured cardstock, backed with a dark brown mat. I cut the decorative edge from green dotted patterned paper 2 times and layered them on top of each other. Finally the reinforcer I cut from dark brown cardstock.

I stamped the sentiment in brown, popped up the kitty with 3D foam squares and added some chunky twine from Tonic Studios. I mounted the tag at angle using 3D foam squares.

The embellishments are sequins and beads from a Watermelon mix from Simon Says Stamp. I also added drops of glossy accents to the melon and seeds.

CARD 3

I think the Shrimp Cocktail is the funniest stamp set in this release! I coloured them with Tombow markers and cut them out with the coordinating dies.

I kept this card very simple: the background is patterned paper from my stash, I die cut a pretty stitched frame (Memory Box) from teal and white cardstock and layered them on top of each other. From the inside teal piece i die cut some waves with the Sea border dies.

I assembled the scene and stamped sentiments in black from the Shrimp Cocktail and Newton’s New Year stamp sets.

I finished this cute card with some Simon Says Stamp confetti mix sequins and a tiny drop of glossy accent on the olives.

CARD 4

And my last card for today is the most refreshing one.

I stamped the lemons twice from the Lemon Twist set with Versafine Onyx black ink on Ranger Watercolour cardstock and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I added colour with Tombow markers and cut them out with the coordinating dies.

I die cut a rounded stitched rectangle from textured white cardstock using the Frames and flags die set. I popped up the 2 lemons with 3D foam squares and stamped the sentiments around the image with black ink.

The background is a pretty patterned paper from Sunny Studio, I mounted the focal panel with 3D foam squares and embellished the card with yellow jewels from Pinkfresh Studio.
