Newton’s Nook Designs February Release – DAY 3

Hello Everyone,

We are halfway through the new release reveals at Newton’s Nook Designs. We already know that our favourite kitty, Newton is not afraid of the Spring showers, but this month he will even have the cutest rainboots ever. Newton’s rainboots is a smaller set, which comes with its coordinating dies. All new products will be available on 21st February.

For my card I stamped and coloured the images making sure to have extras of the ducks and flowers. I used my favourite Copics and cut the images out with their coordinating dies. I made the rainboots red and teal, I wish I could have one like this in real life!

To create a matchin rainy scene I used the new Sky scene builder set. I die cut the clouds from white cardstock and added a bit of grey shading to them to look more serious 🙂

Then I cut a bunch of raindrops from blue glitter cardstock.

The background is a postage stamp rectangle cut from aqua cardstock with the Frameworks die set. I cut a bit of grass with the Land border die, and assembled the scene. Isn’t that duck with the flower on its head just darling? That is my favourite of all of them.

The sentiment I white heat embossed on a dark brown stitched banner (Frames and flags die set) and attached it to the card.

I used a ton of shimmer on the bots, added glossy accents to the beaks and legs and a drop of Nuvo Glitter Drops in the middle of the flowers. Just a tip: if you have not used your Nuvo Drops for a while, don’t squeeze the bottle hard above your project…it happened to me and it all blew out of the bottle directly on my card! Luckily I managed the swipe it away without major damage, but I had a couple of exciting minutes 😀
