Newton’s Nook Designs February Release – DAY 4

Hello Everyone,

The final day of the February Release reveals at Newton’s Nook Designs has come, it is always bitter-sweet. But we saved 2 little sets for last which shout Spring: Hello Spring is perfect for quick tags and cards and Easter Lily is a beautiful floral for all occasions. It also has coordinating dies!

The good news is that all new products will be available tomorrow, 21/02! YAY! I am so curious to know what is on your shopping list!

CARD 1

I am a huge fan of flowers as they are so versatile. I enjoy the colouring process too as it is part of my “how to keep sane” therapy and this particular one was also challenging me to learn something new. (In my colouring I was following the Elements of Nature online colouring class by Kit and Clowder)

After colouring the lily and cutting it out with its coordinating die, I also cut an oval from cream cardstock and a scalloped frame from green cardstock. The latter I cut twice and layered them on top of each other for dimension. (Both dies are from MFT)

The background is a pretty patterned paper from Lawn Fawn. The sentiment I white heat embossed on a thin strip of black cardstock and layered it n between the oval and the frame.

As I wanted the flowers to be the queen of the show, the only embellishment I used was a drop of glossy accents on the anthers.

CARD 2

If you follow me you know how much I love making tags. Even if I make a card, I love to incorporate a tag in my design. That is what I did on this fresh and cute card.

I stamped and coloured the Hello Spring set and cut it out with the fancy edges tags die set.

I gave it a nice topper using the fancy edges in the set and some patterned paper from Doodlebug. The reinforcer is also cut from patterned paper. I cut another tag from dark blue cardstock and layered it under the main one a bit offset to serve as a shadow. I added green twine to match the Spring feel.

For the background I chose a very colourful plaid patterned paper and added two white paper doilies before layering the tag with 3D foam squares.

As a finishing touch I added glossy accents to the middle of the flower and to the letters, they look so dimensional and shiny!
