Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Blog Hop

Hello Everyone,

I am so excited to be part of the 8th annual Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Blog Hop along with amazingly talented guest designers and our lovely Design Team for Newton’s Nook Designs! I hope you enjoyed the last couple of weeks full of holiday inspiration and will hop along with us today.

Newton’s Christmas Cuddles is one of my all time favourite sets and I wanted to use the kissing kitties on a Christmas scene. For my card as always I stamped and coloured the images and cut them out with their coordinating dies.

On a white top folding cardbase I applied a bit of Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink and adhered a piece of Doodlebug pattered paper on the bottom of the card. I added a thin strip of green glitter cardstock and popped up the images.

To complete the scene I die cut the leaves and berries from white cardstock using the Pines and Holly die set. I added Lucky Clover Distress Oxide ink to make the leaves green. I also cut the bow from dark red cardstock. and arranged them above the kitties.

For the sentiment I chose one from the Christmas Roundabout set and stamped it directly on the patterned paper with green ink. I cut the word Kissmas with the Essential Alphabet dies from dark red cardstock and arranged the letters a bit wonky under the stamped sentiment for a playful look.

As a finishing touch I added clear shimmer to the bow and presents and used a lot of glossy accents to emphasize some details and make the letters shiny.
