Newton’s Nook Designs August Release – DAY 3

Hello Everyone,

We are halfway through the August Release reveals at Newton’s Nook Designs, I hope you enjoy our inspiration week. For today we have another 2 fantastic sets: Fall Friends is an idyllic Autumn scene which comes with coordinating dies, while Heartfelt Gourds is a super versatile stamp with great sentiments. It coordinates the previously release Heart Frame and Banner Trio die sets and falls in line with the other heart shaped sets in the range.

All new products will be available on Friday, 20th August.

CARD 1

For my first card I stamped the images from Fall Friends on alcohol ink friendly cardstock and used my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers to colour them. The colours I used are the following: chair: BT9, BT7, BT5, BT3, pumpkins: GB9, BO4, BO3, BO1, EB7, EB3, BG7, BG4, BG1, bucket&flowers: EB5, EB2, TN1, GB7, CT4, CT3, blanket: AG5, AG3, AG1, CT4, CT3, CT1, cat: EB3, RB3, RB2, RB1, dog: BG9, BG7, BG5, BG1. I cut everything out with the coordinating dies.

For the background I blended Speckled Egg Distress Oxide ink on Bristol Smooth cardstock and used the Cloudy sky stencil to add some clouds with the same colour. After removing the stencil I added some water, white and black ink splatters for more texture. On another little scrap piece I blended Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink and added the usual splatters just in green. I die cut grass with the Land Border die and assembled the scene.

The sentiment I white heat embossed on a dark grey banner (Banner Trio dies) and used the exra little leaves as embellishments. I added drops of glossy accents and some highlights with a white pencil.

CARD 2

For my second card I stamped the Heartfelt Gourds stamp and cut it out immediately with the scalloped heart from Heart Frames. I used my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers to colour them. The colours I used are the following: AG5, DG4, DG3, DG2, GB7, GB4, CT3, GB9, BO4, BO3, BO1, LG4, LG2, LG1, GY5, GY3, GY2, OR3, OR2, OR1, CT4, CT3, CT1, LY1, CG3, CG2, CG1, BG5, BG2, BG1.

I also stamped the deer from Harvest Tails and coloured it too: EB7, EB5, EB3, EB1, TN1, RB1, BO4, BO3, BO1, EB4, GB9, CG3, CG2, CG1. I used the coordinating die to cut it out.

For the background chose patterned paper this time (Doodlebug Designs). The sentiment I stamped on a stitched rounded banner (Banner Trio). I assembled the card, popped up the deer and the banner and used gold gems and glossy accents as embellishments.
