Newton’s Nook Designs August Release – DAY 4

Hello Everyone,

It is always bittersweet when we reach the last day of the new release reveals, but fear not, Newton’s Nook Designs has 2 beautiful sets still for today. Signs of Fall comes with a coordinating die set and can be perfectly combined with older Fall sets too. Heartfelt Fall gives you a tons of options for your Autumn crafts with beautiful sentiments. It coordinates with the previously release Heart Frame and Banner Trio die sets and falls in line with the other heart shaped sets in the range.

All new products will be available on Friday, 20th August.

CARD 1

When I first saw the Signs of Fall stamp set I immediately thought of an older set Autumn Newton. So I stamped the images from both and coloured them with Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers. The colours I used are the following: pumpkins: GB9, BO4, BO3, BO1, sunflower: EB7, EB3, GY3, CT4, CT3, hay: GB7, GB5, GB1, lantern: BG9, BG7, BG5, pot: CG3, CG2, CG1, YG3, sign: RB4, RB2, RB1, TN1, cats: BG9, BG7, BG5, BG2, BG1. I cut them out with the coordinating dies.

I imagined a background in Fall colours so I blended Carved Pumpkin, Scattered Straw and Bundled Sage Distress Oxide inks gently on Bristol Smooth cardstock. Then I laid the Falling Leaves stencil over it and went back with the same colours. After removing the stencil I added black and white splatters and when it was dry I die cut the panel with the postage stamp die from Frameworks. I also cut a smaller scalloped rectangle from vellum.

Vellum is tricky to work with as all adhesive I tried shows through. Therefore I adhered first the images on the bottom of the vellum with liquid glue and added drops of glue behind the images to hide it. On the top I used the heat embossed sentiment on a brown banner (Frames and Flags) to hide the glue behind.

As a finishing touch I used glossy accents on the stems, flower centers and ribbon and a few gold gems.

CARD 2

Heartfelt Fall is one of my favourite sets in this release, so elegant and delicate and super versatile. For my card I stamped it on alcohol ink friendly cardstock and coloured it with Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers. The colours I used are the following: TN8, BO4, BO3, EB5, EB4, EB3, GB4, CT4, CT1, RB2, RB1, DR5, DR3, AG2, AG1, DG4, DG3, DG2, YG3, YG2. I cut it out with the Heart Frames dies.

Then I die cut the biggest heart from the same die set from kraft cardstock 2 times and a smaller stitched one from vellum to go on top of the coloured leaves one.

For the sentiment I used the die cut from Fall Friends: I cut it 3 times from brown cardstock and 3 times from orange (for the heart only). I adhered them together and popped them up on the vellum heart with liquid glue. I embellished with gold gems and glossy accents on the heart.
