Newton’s Nook Designs Holiday Release – Day 1

Hello Everyone,

This is my favourite part of the year when companies come out with their holiday releases. So you can imagine how excited I am to be part of a fabulous and fun Release Week with Newton’s Nook Designs! We have a lot to share with you in the coming days, a lot of new stamps, dies and a big surprise the fan’s were waiting for so long: a paper pad! YAY! Today we are showcasing the adorable Snow Much Cheer and Newton’s Stockings stamp/die sets.

All new products will be available on Friday, 15/10/2021.

CARD 1

I started with stampig and colouring the cutest snowmen ever from the Snow Much Cheer stamp set using Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers. The colours I used are the following: BG9, BG7, BG5, BG4, BG2, BG1, TB5, TB3, TB2, TB1, LG4, LG1, CT4, CT1, LY1, DR4, DR3, DR1, BO4, BO3, BO1, DG4, DG3, DG2. I used the coodinating dies to cut everything out.

Then I used the Petite Snow stencil on a piece of heavy weight vellum with white texture paste. I set it aside to dry and did some die cutting meanwhile.

I cut a white postage edge rectangle using the Frameworks die set and cut 2 snowbanks using the Land border dies. I also die cut the Christmas word from red glitter paper with the Holiday Greetings die set. When the sow background was dry, I also die cut that with the Frameworks die.

I white heat embossed a sentiment on a thin grey strip of cardstock from the Snow Much Cheer stamp set and assembled the scene. I used 3D foam squares behind the the snowmen and the sentiment strip and popped up the panel on a light blue card base. As a finishing touch I used a clear shimmer pen and glossy accents on the coloured images.

CARD 2

I stamped the kitty and some presents from Newton’s Stockings on alcohol ink friendly cardtsock and coloured the images with Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers. Here are the colours I used: BG9, BG7, BG5, FS7, DR4, DR3, DR1, AG2, AG1, LG2. I die cut them with the coordinating dies and using an embossing pen, I added white texture embossing powder (Lawn Fawn) to the white parts of the stocking. I used my heat gun to melt it. It gives a super fun, fluffy texture!

I also heat embossed one of the sentiments from the set directly on the stocking, I love when the message is part of the images! So cool!

While I was die cutting I also cut a ribbon from red and pine branches from green using the Pines and Holly die set.

I assembled my littl scene on a white strip of cardstock, matted it with green cardstock and adhered them to an A2 sized card which I previously covered with a pretty patterned paper from the new Meowy Christmas paper pad.

As a finishing touch I added glossy accents to the presents, and used a clear shimmer pen on the santa hat.
