Newton’s Nook Designs August Release – Day 4

Hello Everyone,

We have reached the final day of the August Release reveals at Newton’s Nook Designs, I hope you enjoyed the week with me so far. We have saved 2 little stamp/die sets for the last day: the cute Pug-kin and the hilarious Knight-owl. I love the mini sets because usually they are so funny and the price point is great!

All new products will be available on Friday 21/08!

CARD 1

First I stamped and coloured the adorable pup in the pumpkin 2 times, I used Copic markers and cut them out with the coordinating dies. I wanted to make a slimline card, so I created my own card base from kraft cardstock. The ready base measures 3,5*8,5inches. I used the new Houndstooth stencil on it with black ink to give a bit of pattern.

Then I die cit the scalloped rectangle from Slimline Frames and Portholes from yellow cardstock and the other panel from dark blue and brown. I wanted an in-between layer, so I cut the window die from Slimline Frames and Windows from Mustard cardstock and adhered them on top of each other. I used the Land border dies to cut the grass from black cardstock and distressed them with white pigment ink.

The sentiment I die cut from gold sparkle cardstock using a Heffy Doodle Hello die and stamped the Pug-kin sentiment under it in black. The puppies I popped up with thin 3D foam squares and added glossy accents to the face of the jack-o-lanterns, the stems and the puppy noses. I made the eyes of the dogs shiny with a black glaze pen.

CARD 2

When I fist saw the Knight-owl set I immediately imagined a castle scene. So after stamping, colouring and die cutting two owls, I worked on the castle itself using patterned paper and the MFT Castle Die-namics.

I need a night sky behind it wo on a white card base I sponged Chipped Zapphire and Black Soot Distress Oxide inks and splattered them with white acrylic paint and Inkon3 Liquid Pixie Dust.

When it was all dry I assembled the scene and die cut the “to my” sentiment from silver sparkle cardstock with the Essential Alphabet dies. The other half of the sentiment I white heat embossed on a small strip of black cardstock and adhered it to the scene.

I finished it off with glossy accents on the beaks, armors and shields.
