Newton’s Nook Designs 8 Year Celebration

Hello Everyone,

Today I am excited to be part of  the 8 year anniversary celebration with Newton’s Nook Designs! To celebrate this awesome milestone, Newton’s Nook Designs has released adorable new cupcake themed products, which I will be sharing on my projects today. There are prizes too! Read all the way to the end of this post to find out how you can win!

Here are my projects:

CARD 1

For the first card I have stamped Newton’s Cupcake on white alcohol ink friendly cardstock and the main image once more on patterned paper. I coloured the kitty and the topping with Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers, here is a lost of colours I used: BG9, BG7, BG5, BG4, BG2, BG1, DR5, DR3, DR1, GB4, GB2, MB1, BT7, VB1, BT1, EB5, EB3.

I used the coordinating dies to cut the coloured images and fussy cut the cupcake holder which I stamped on patterned paper. I added some shading to this and adhered it on the top of the coloured image. It looks so fun! I also stamped a sentiment on the cupcake itself, I love how it looks!

To assemble the scene I die cut a scalloped rectangle (Frames and Flags die set) from the same patterned paper which I used for the cupcake and the rounded rectangle from aother patterned paper. All papers are from the Hello Sunshine Remix paper pad from Lawn Fawn. I added this a dark grey cardstock mat and assembled the scene.

I white heat embossed an extra sentiment from the Heartfelt blooms stamp set on a teal banner and popped it up with 3D foam tape. I used the Balloon Shaker dies to die cut some festive embellisments and added glossy accents to the cherries and sprinkles.

CARD 2

For my second card I wanted the stenciled backgroud to be in the focus. I used the first layer of the Cupcake stencil on Fog cardstock with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink, but I masked off the cupcake toppings. I wanted those to be brown, so I used Ground Espresso on those parts. A small blending brush was helping me to get it done easily. For the second layer I used Kitch Flamingo and for the third I mixed Picked Raspberry with Ranger Texture Paste so it has some dimension.

When the panel was dry I cut it down a little to fit inside a postage edge rectangle which I cut with the Frameworks die from teal cardstock.

The sentiment is white heat embossed on a stitched banner (Banner Trio dies). It is from Heartfelt Blooms, I love this set for all the sentiments too.
