Newton’s Nook Designs’ 6 year celebration – DAY 1

Hello Everyone,

Iam so excited to be part of the Newton’s Nook Designs’ 6 year celebration! YAY! The new release is huge and wonderful, today we are featuring the adorable Corgi beach stamp/die set, some scene builder stencils and 2 new, unique layering stencils:

All new products will be available on Friday, 19/07! There is so much to share, so let’s dive in!

CARD 1

The Corgi Beach stamp set has so many lovely little dogs having fun on the beach. I stamped and coloured them using Tombow markers (those are new to me but I must say I love them more than my ZIG markers so far). I used Bristol smooth cardstock as I find they blend easier on this. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

I wanted to create a simple beach scene therefor I used the MFT stamps Beach Scene builder die set. I cut the sand from kraft cardstock, the sea part from aqua cardstock. I spritzed this one with Avery Elle Shimmer spray for a subtle sparkle. The palm tree I cut from brown and green cardstocks. So quick and easy!

For the background I chose a light blue cardstock and used the Cloud edge stencil with Tumbled glass Distress ink to create a cloudy sky. I stamped the sentiment in black and assembled the card.

Here are some close ups of the cutie dogs:

As a finishing touch I added some glossy accents to the sunglasses and the noses of the dogs and used Espresso Jewels from Pretty Pink Posh as coconuts on the palm tree.

CARD 2

I love the layering stencils Newton’s Nook Designs have, they are all so unique! Check their line here. For this card I used the new Pineapple one on kraft cardstock.

First I created the pineapples with Mustard Seed Distress Oxide ink but before removing the stencil I added a layer of Transparent glossy texture paste. I set it aside to dry.

While I was waiting I stamped and coloured the cute coala from the Pina Koala mini set using Copics and cut it out with the coordinating die.

I also cut a green banner with the Frames and flags die set and stamped a birthday sentiment in the middle from the Sending Hugs stamp set. The die cut sentiment is from Lawn Fawn, cut from dark brown cardstock 3 times and layered on top of each other.

When the pineapples were dry, i used the other stencil in the set to add the leaves. So easy to get a textures and two-coloured look without masking all those little bits! Genius! I die cut the background with the scalloped rectangle die from the Frames and flags die set and assembled the card on a white card base.

As a finishing touch I covered the pineapple in the hand of the koala and his nose with glossy accents to mach the shine of the background. I also added a few yellow jewels from Lucy’s Little Things to the banner.

CARD 3

My last card is a floral one, I used the Hibiscus stencils on a top folding white notecard directly with Distress Oxides and a mini finger dauber.

The colours for the flowers are: Spun sugar and Picked Raspberry, for the leaves: Twisted citron and Mowed lawn. I love that each stencil has some engraved design which helps to align the second layer!

On the flower one I used a gold gel pen on the middle of the hibiscus, and to be faster I left the stencil on while doing so. Easy peasy.

I digged out of my stash the gorgeous Hibiscus die set and cut the pieces from coloured cardstock.

I also cut a light green banner using the Frames and flags die set, and a small stitched ticket shaped one from white cardstock using the Framework die set. On the latter I stamped the sentiment from the Floral Fringe stamp set using pink ink (Gina K Designs) and assembled the card.

As a finishing touch I added some gold crystals from Studio Katia.
